Nice quality 1055 steel blade. Out-of-the-box grind was off-center, so I had to center it using my belt sander. Once grind centered, it sharpened very well. Holds sharpening after use clearing brush on several occasions. Great handle. Sheath is durable enough, but kind of a klunky design (would prefer the old Gurkha "bucket"-style sheath rather than an open-side sheath as provided.) Bottom line, decent value out-of-box... incredible value with a little work grind-truing and sharpening. Recommended.
