Put these Micron DIMMS in my MSI Platinum X58 motherboard with an i7-940 CPU. Plug and play, runs at 1600MHz no problem, all 24GB recognized in BIOS and by Windows with no further adjustments needed. Also tested with i7-950 and worked fine. I will try again later with X5670 in the same motherboard to see, but at this point I believe this memory will be excellent for the X58 platform. I am considering getting an X79 motherboard and E5-2660 at some point in the future and I will try these in there as well and expect them to do well.

functions well in Hp Pro 3500 with HP Foxconn H-CUPERTINO2 H61uATX 3.10 motherboard. Upgraded G645 cpu to i7-3770 (non - K) and memory speed automatically went from 1333MHz to 1600MHz with 11-11-11-28 timings. The MICRON 2 x 4GB MT8JTF51264AZ-1G6E1 is a nice upgrade from 2x2GB (4GB total) as Microsoft OS Windows 10 is a memory hog which utilizes 30 percent (leaving 70 percent) of 8GB free. Unfortunately, Edge and Google Chrome browsers eat up a lot of memory too. The highest GPU recommended on this mobo is GTX 670 with i7-3770 which requires upgrading Power Supply Unit from 300W to a 500W as most PSU will work. I have a GTX 970 and R9-280X but the PCIe not likely to handle the load.

The 2 DDR3 memory cards were received much earlier than predicted. Packing was marginal - wrapped in paper towel and plastic bag. I prefer static resistant bags for mobo parts. Cards work fine in an old ECS H81H3-M3 mini ATA board.

These are the same modules installed by Dell at the time of manufacture, so compatibility is ensured. After installing and allowing the system to update, the machine performs as it would if the factory had built it that way. Replacing all the RAM with the fastest allowed would have given a slight boost, but the XPS 8700 is already a fast machine and I couldn't justify the added cost.
