The speaker Grill is made out of sturdy but flexible black coated steel with a rubberized edge all around it. The plastic clamps are made for a smaller diameter Grill and don't fit the 12in diameter very well but they can work. The screws included with the clamps do not have washers or big enough heads to securely hold the plastic clamps- they pull through the hole in the plastic clamps before they're snug. Washers or screws with bigger heads must be supplied by the end user or the supplied clamps will break. Also, the grill is shipped in a plastic bag with no backing - expect it to be bent from Shipping and needing to be straightened for installation. I used the 12 speaker Grill to span over a surface mount 10 in woofer. It appears to have enough clearance for the throw of the woofer, but a long throw woofer would need for the grill to be spaced up for clearance. The grill is strong enough to keep errant fingers and other items from damaging the woofer, which is what I purchased it for.Read full review

Bought these grills for my sub box in my SUV. These grills aren't tall enough for this type of use. These covers are designed for flush mount or under mount speakers not ones that screw to the outside of the box. The clamps that come with the grills have notches to go between the grill mesh to secure the grill. However, I tried every clamp all the way around the grill and the notches didn't fit anywhere. Good price for what you get but useless for vehicle sub boxes. They would work great for home theater is you don't mind the clamps not being flat.
