Bought for my 12 year old son. He has been taking lessons for a couple years now and wanted something better than children's guitar. I settled on this one because of price and comes with everything and the great reviews. Received everything in great condition. Loved having it shipped right in the case. I was surprised how beautiful this guitar sounds to anything else he has ever played. I'm not musical minded but I can tell when something stays in tune and this does. Fits my son very well and the price was great. The music stores want that price just for the guitar here you get all the accessories and a very nice hard case. Well recommended.

Shop at Sam Ash with confidence
I shopped around for quite some time before I settled on this used FS800 Yamaha at Sam Ash. Boy did I get lucky, guitar showed up with not so much as a fingerprint on it maybe a few lite mars on the pickguard. For my untrained eye set up on the guitar looks and feels perfect. Truss rod is dead on there's not a single buzzing fret. Except for my terribly Rusty playing. I was quite accomplished in another lifetime and then gave it up but thought I'd pick it back up. This is a good guitar for that adventure. Mid range on these FS800 Yamaha's is incredible. Low end is about normal and they are a little soft on the high end. But that could be the stock strings that came with the guitar I haven't changed them yet. All in all it was a great buy from a reputable dealer

BEST FOR THE MONEY
I own 7 guitars from a mim srat,Les Paul std,USA Dean ML Musicman Stingray Bass a martin D18 GE, I wanted a guitar to take out and not worry about after MANY reviews I decided on the FS800,The only negative I can say is the action is a little high out of the box..Aha!...Not a problem because I had planned on replacing the Plastic saddle with a bone anyways which I did..You want a Allparts #BS-0254-000...I had planned on replacing the strings but the stock strings are really nice so I am still using them,I took the pick guard off with a hair dryer and fishing line..looks great,...You wont regret this purchase...Sell your OVERPRICED Taylor,Buy one of these and a car for your wife..

More Than a Basic Folk Guitar
There is a place in my project studio for FS800: 48 years ago I sold Yamaha Guitars and found them excellent. When the group "America" presented a acoustic sound (Horse with No Name; Ventura Highway; Tin Man . . . et al) the solid rhythms of Yamaha solid top guitars proved Ideal. Through the years I have experimented with various genres as a singer songwriter; now a days I have returned to folk and "heavy on" acoustic guitar sounds. To complement my more expensive guitars I needed something that could deliver the solid rhythms I fondly recall. Now the Yamaha FS800 excels for finger styles as well: I layer tracks this guitar is a breeze to play and its character naturally stands out in the mix. I cannot see a beginner or a more advanced guitarist going wrong with The Yamaha FS800. JH Read full review

I buy these FS/FG 800 for my music students. They sound and play like a much more expensive instrument. I even use them myself for public performance. You can't beat Yamaha quality.
