This camera is small and very portable. Much easier to carry around than a DSLR. The touch screen is very good and the button layout is well designed. The menu system is well laid out and the options are plenty. Shoots 4K at 30 and 24 FPS which looks great. 1080p at 60, 30 and 24 FPS. It’s a great camera for street photography and landscape. Also has options for time lapse and panoramic. The view finder takes getting used to if you come from an optical one. The nice thing is that it displays all kinds of information on it which is customizable. There are a lot of lenses to choose from for this camera as well. More than what’s available for Sony mirrorless. It does have a few negatives though. The battery life is bad. I suggest buying at least 2 extra batteries, especially if you shoot video. 4K drains it like crazy. Focusing can be difficult sometimes since you have to do it by touching the screen. And it struggles with low light some. Even with some of the negatives I still give it 5 stars. If you are looking to ditch the giant DSLR or just want a great camera for travel and outdoor photos I recommend it.Read full review

Having used several Panasonic micro four thirds cameras, including the recent GM5, I was really hoping the claims Panasonic has made with this camera would "pan" out (pun intended). Good IBIS, enhanced sensor resolution with no AA filter, a new contrasty monochrome mode? Yes please. So far I have definitely noticed a small sharpness improvement in jepgs compared to the GM5. Note that the first thing I do with a micro four thirds camera is turn the noise reduction down to its minimum setting for jpegs. I believe, from what I have seen, that this camera has fairly strong noise reduction by default. Turning it all the way down produces super crisp and sharp shots. Jpeg colors are also much better than the GM5. IBIS is great as well. I have been able to produce a good amount of sharp shots at even 4 stops lower than the rule of reciprocity for shutter speed. This camera has more plastic than the GM5 or the previous GX cameras, but it is still very sturdy and slightly heavy. I have no doubt there is a metal chassis and that overall durability is on par with previous Panasonic cameras, which is to say excellent. The value for this camera is quite high for all the features you are getting. I applaud Panasonic for producing so many features and pricing it so competitively against similar mid range mirrorless cameras. Happy with my purchase!Read full review

Though I have not used this camera extensively, yet, everything about this camera is meeting, or exceeding my expectations. Very well built, though not weather resistant (I knew that before purchasing it), good enough ergonomics for me, and a mulitude of ways to use the camera to get the shot you’re after. 5 axis Image Stabilization and combined with Panasonic Lumix lenses with IS (certain lenses), you have a very able camera allowing you to hand-hold the camera for shots that normally would have required a tripod. What’s not to love?

I bought this camera because had one before and loved it. But the battery door broke, it was my fault. So was looking for the Panasonic LUMIX GX85. This one I bought is almost brand new. These cameras are hard to find and in great condition.

Takes great stills, time-lapse, HDR, panorama and video (including 4k). Tilting and touch screen LCD, Electronic View Finder, IBIS (In-Body Image stabilization) that works with Panasonic lenses that have built in image stabilization for a 5 way image stabilization for both stills and video.

Great value for this awesome little camera. I switched to Micro 4/3 a few years ago for the weight savings and the picture quality, and the GX85 is a great example of both.

small size, good quality makes it good for video for me. Kit lens good but not great so this becomes more expensive for highest quality lens.

This is a Great Camera for the price. Its has many useful features and the keeper rate for doing street photography is much higher than what I have experienced from prosumer DSLRs. Features such a perfectly designed touch screen and performance has won me over. Yes, fullframes still are better in terms of overall image quality, but I seem to be more pleased with actually shooting with this camera. So for street, this camera is optimal for my needs.

I bought the '85 to replace a perfectly functional GX-1 that has provided superb utility. The '85 is a substantial improvement in features, especially if you need 4K video. I also like the viewfinder and pivoting LCD. The only dislike I have is the lack of a wall charger for the battery. I do not like needing to charge batteries in the device. I'm also underwhelmed with the wifi capability. I usually put the SD card in my computer and dump the pictures, and wifi isn't really more convenient. I would not hesitate to recommend this camera to another M43 user.
