I bought this for my wife for her birthday because she had an iPhone years ago and had always wanted another. That one was a hand me down from our son, and it was still working when she moved over to Android with me. I've always had Androids because I like to more than average. We got the phone and set her up and she's been so happy with it! Up to now we've carried later phones, equal in size to the 6s I guess, and she wanted a larger one. Low $$$ made me look at the smaller ones though, and when I read how good the 5se's screen is I felt she'd be happy with this size. I figured if she didn't like it we'd trade up. But she loves it! Such a much clearer display than the bigger Android she had...
That got me thinking how tired I am of big, slow, laggy phones, so after I messed around with hers for awhile and got to appreciating the smoothness of it...I bought one.😁
The only negative to the whole experience is that her battery maxes at 87%. The phone was advertised as refurbished, but refurbished means like new, so the battery should have been replaced. Otherwise the phone is just plain old used. That's why 4 stars because now I've got to do a battery change to make it into what I thought I was buying. Good thing I like to tinker.Read full review
If you have to have an iPhone AND you have to have a small form factor, than the SE is really your only modern option.
My goal in getting this device was to evaluate moving to the iOS platform. Had one of the first iPhone models but moved to Android and stayed there for the past 12 years. Decided to try again, but found the same set of challenges of an extremely closed, inflexible ecosystem and environment. As for the form factor, it is quite small (coming from a phablet). In fact, I think it is too small to be effective as a media consumption device. Moving to the next size up would improve the experience dramatically, without making it too bulky. In the end, I'm gonna stick with my android and donate this thing to my friends' kids.
Finally a small phone..wish it had faster processor but this is a bit older. Love the rose gold. Came with the new usb cord and earbuds which I love because they aren’t shoved directly into your ears...as always I wish apple did have more internal design options (like putting apps in different spots on the screen, better music compatibility, no ads from iTunes whenever I want to play music it gets in the way, apps show different on apple products than androids). But this is literally the smallest smartphone nowadays that actually fits in my pocket.
Works perfectly with my no contract service. Just needed to purchase a nano SIM card through the service provider. Easy to use and faster than my old iPhone 4. I like the slim size, but still able to see the letters and am able to key comfortably.
Perfect Small Form Factor phone. Can be used for calls & texts only if this suits you
Perfect size phone if you don't want to lug a big one half the size of an iPad, and if you just can't stand an external keyboard. It looks cool inside its Otterbox case and works like a clockwork. I've upgraded from a little LG phone that will be discontinued comes summer and I'm loving it. As I didn't want to get stuck in iCloud and a few other places, I am using it for calls & texts only. You have to learn to deal with its battery, don't leave it plugged in for overnight and make sure to use it every day. Plug in occasionally to top off and it will thank you.
