I bought this as a replacement for an ageing Landis & Staefa RWB9 unit. It was a plug-in replacement using the original wallplate wiring and functionally identical in terms of controlling the CH & HW. The LCD is clear and I like the way it shows the next switching times for CH & HW. What isn't so clever is the awkward positioning of the switches under the two red LEDs which indicate when the CH & HW are on. The LEDs have HW/CH left and right, but the switches for Advance and Boost are grouped with HW/CH above and below. How illogical is that! Apart from that, it is easy to set up and check, with clear instructions for installation and operation.

The product claims to be a direct replacment for a range of previous controllers and even that it will fit directly on to the back plate of the previous controller. This is true but as it is slightly larger than the originals you may find that IF the previous controller abuts a door frame, wall or the CH box then you will have to remove the back plate and reposition it to make the new controller fit, it which case you may as well fit the new back plate that comes with it as I did. Other than that functionality is goo with separate programmes for CH and HW, and you can programmes different times for weekends. The menu is easy to access, easy to read, and easy to set. All in all a good product which is neat to look at if it is on display as well.

We needed to replace our old British Gas Programmer UP1L which had been installed a number of years.. Despite having a British Gas plan the company could not provide a compatible programmer which fitted the exiting mounting only with a cumbersome clockwork model which was not suitable for the location due to its size. So with a bit of help from the British Gas Engineer and Google we learned that the old model was a Siemens product carrying the British Gas logo. The RWB29 fitted the existing mount and was of the same size as the old one. Purchased , fitted and programmed without the need for electrician etc.. British Gas would have loved to have quoted for relocating the old one with their new dated model.. Very satisfied with the RWB29. Siemens have obviously had the foresight to provide new products that fit existing mountings. . Hope this may be helpful to someone.Read full review

This is my second Siemens Programmer which I bought for my Central Heating over years ago. I decided to change the programmer because it was old and since the winter was coming, I decided to buy the same model. Its reliable and you can programme for Daily, Weekly or 7 day programme. I have had no issues with the old one and since installing the new one, I have had no problems. Certainly would recommend it for Home Central Heating.
