Simple, pleasure to install and setup
Works exactly as it says it will. Installation the simplest I have ever installed. Accessory thermostats basically "self install". Wireless connect is piece of cake. Smart phone android app is simple and to the point. 4 settings for every day of the week and change it with your computer or phone from anywhere. Haven't tried to connect to Alexa, and won't for now - no need to. Yo cannot go wrong with this one, and the price is very fair. Bought two - one for upstairs and one for downstairs with 2 accessory units to place in various rooms. Instructions and troubleshooting are clear and simple and correct. Totally happy.

It's OK, gets the job done
If you have a 24 volt line found in newer homes, it should be easy to install. Otherwise, your opening up you HVAC system to install the provided 24 volt adapter or possibly calling in a pro, which was my solution. Based on my heater/AC design, the pro needed to alter the wiring in order to use the Ecobee3. So far, it's working fine. WIFI connection was straight forward and the app for Android allows remote temperature adjustment and easy set up of temperature offsets. The extra large wall plate covered the holes from my old thermostat and the unit looks clean and modern. I also like the outside temp reading it pulls via Intranet. Ecobee also connects with Google Home.

Excellent Wi-Fi Thermostat!
Among the brands of high quality wi-fi thermostats I originally landed on getting an Ecobee 3 Lite as it was really all I needed. I didn’t need the extra features that come in their Ecobee 4 and across other brands I wasnt as impressed with their design. I finished swapping all of my thermostats to Ecobee 3 Lites now in our house and I love the control from the app, the interface on the tstat itself, and how clean it looks on the wall. I recommend them to everyone who’s in the market for a wi-fi thermostat.

Excellent smart thermostat! Easy to install with great features. So easy to set remotely before you come home or after you leave. It looks unobtrusive with a smart phone display. Gives you warning if your temperature drops below the minimum temp. you’ve set.

Good, but not so simple
I like it a lot. Control from phone makes it easy to reduce temp when not at home and monitor temp when not at home. Makes it easy to set a schedule of sleep and awake times. Even got an accurate email from ecobee saying it was calling for heat and indoor temp hasn't increased in 3 hours so there might be an issue with furnace. Still waiting for the Home IQ analysis. I found it easier to create a new email account to use for registering it so I can give access to others in the house. The app just requires an email address and the ecobee password so giving others access doesn't require giving them your email password, but a separate email account means control could be easily transferred in the future and I could share support issues and the Home IQ analysis. Real important to carefully read and follow installation directions. It is better at saying it isn't right than giving a hint on what is wrong. Also, change a default Preference that manual changes last until next manual change to either 2 hours or next scheduled change. Otherwise, when you manually set it warmer when staying up late then it is that manual override value greater than desired in the morning.Read full review
