The D500 is in a strange class. It's DX format doesn't put it in the pro market, but this camera was designed to be a professional camera. It is identical to the newly formed D5 just in a DX body. There is no AUTO mode which is why I knocked off the "is it easy to use". The build, quality and the use of WIFI is excellent, I could not be happier!

It’s a very nice camera, way better than what I had. I had a Olympus E-5 old, and not very well taken care of.. I would like to sell the Olympus, don’t know what I could get for it…

I was pretty happy with my D750 until I picked up the D500. This combination of kit lens 16-80/2.8-4 VR and professional (D200/D300) build and TOUCH SCREEN are ideal. I still forget the touchscreen is there. It may not be technically as good as the D750, but out of the camera white balance, focusing, and handling are all far superior IMO. Subjectively I enjoyed my D200 more than every other Nikon (D300 D300S D600 D800 D750) until the D500. I can go back to shooting JPG's again!

I want to notice, that Nikon D500 has very good quality at high ISO, focus works very quickly and it's accurate. Аuto white balance works better than previous models. I like ergonomics, and for me this camera for everyday use. It's smaller and lighter than my D810 with 24-70 and 70-200. For reportage photography is a very good choice
