These Energizer lithium batteries work great and have a very long storage life AND THEY DON'T LEAK. I have quit buying Duracell and Energizer alkaline batteries as they have ruined many devices and I have too many to check all of them - some of the alkaline batteries leak in the unopened package. These lithium batteries are more expensive but the long life and no leakage make them a much better choice for me.

I've been using the Ultimate Lithiums for a very long time and I've found them to be dependable in extreme conditions,- hot weather, winter conditions, etc. I particularly like their long shelf life. My heaviest use is for outdoor activities, hiking, backpacking, long canoe trips, etc. Engaging in these lengthly excursions are not times when I want to have my batteries crapping out while using my GPS or headlamp,- you get the idea. Obviously, all batteries eventually die, but the lithiums put up one hell of a fight. I also have to say that the price on these was / is pretty good. I'll pay the extra over the alkaline any day.

This is one of those rare products where I really have no complaints. The Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries do so many things well that there really isn't anything else on the market to compare to. The capacity on these AAA's is about 1200mAh under typical loads, so you're getting the best battery life that this size has to offer. Unlike alkaline batteries, these will last at least 20 years in storage and they won't leak! I've basically stopped using alkaline batteries due to nasty leakage. Instead I either use Lithiums like these, Rechargeable Ni-Mh cells (such as Eneloop), or sometimes I use the really inexpensive Heavy Duty Zinc cells from Harbor Freight in really low drain devices like remote controls or clocks - in my experience these really don't leak either and with a coupon you can get them for free sometimes. The other advantages of Energizer Lithium are; 1) Really lightweight - almost feels like there's no batteries in your device, 2) Instant high-amperage output capability if needed - much better than alkalines for digital cameras, flashes, or other high-drain devices, and 3) not only do they have a long shelf life but these will also work great in very cold temperatures.
