Solid CPU in 2013 or 2019. Runs modern workloads incredibly well. Paired for dual 8C/16T powerhouse. Running in High Perf mode, all-core full-time clocked, between 3.6-4.0GHz. A pair of these sub-$200 CPUs benches similarly to a $1,000 i9-7900X or $800 Threadripper 1920X. Games and programs run perfectly, cheap DDR3 ECC RAM clocks to 1866MHz fine. Asus Z9PA-D8/Z9PE-D8/Z9PE-D16 supports 256-512GB of RAM. 80 PCIe 3.0 lanes for anything you could possibly want to run. Would highly recommend for almost any power user needs. Smallest compatible case (mine): 19.5L Chimera Cerberus X supports SSI-CEB and EATX perfectly, if a bit tight stay within 333mm wide. 41.3L NZXT H500 fits SSI-EEB without cutting, half the standoffs will need new mount points though. The 42.4L Corsair Carbide 400C/Q is a good alternative, although it may involve a tiny amount of cutting or bending for SSI-EEB. Can't think of a better CPU for high frequency, 8+C Performance with dual socket options.Read full review

This is a great CPU. It's right at the balance between core count and clock speed. For being an older chip, they turbo up to the nearly 4GHz on a lot of cores and with 2 of them, they are pretty close to first gen threadripper performance for less cost.

It works as it should ! With a bit of overclocking you get a Cinebench R15 score of 1350. To summarize, 8 core / 16 threads, decent speed, lots of applications will run much faster for your LGA 2011 motherboard (mine is ASUS p9x79 pro).

I only recommend buying this if you already have most of the platform it belongs to and this represents a super cheap upgrade. It works just fine, and you can kick that old Dell T7600 down the road a little longer, but make no mistake, these are frightfully inefficient by modern standards, and this chip in particular is outperformed by a modern ultrabook despite using nearly 10x the electricity.

The two CPUs I ordered arrived on time. They are kind of glued to a blue plastic ring. I had to clean the glue from the CPU itself before installed them. I installed them on a Dell R620 server. The server has no problem taking both of them. I am still watching this server on the stability side. No complain so far.

As far removed as we are from the original release of this platform, this is now the best/most relevant Ivy Bridge Xeon chip for production. Single thread performance is 4Ghz. If you are looking to build a budget workstation that can take advantage of DDR3 memory prices, then look no further than this processor to power your build.

The workstation this CPU is installed in uses Esxi 6.7 as the OS and all guest Vm's launch and run very fast. The speed and the 16 threads work wonders when running multiple guest Vm's simultaneously.

Installed yesterday for my Mac Pro (2013). Worked well! The unit was shipped in a good package and cleaned perfectly as described.

Best upgrade path for 2670 owners. 8 cores running at 3.3Ghz with 4Ghz turbo. Sick!
