This lens is one of the great lenses in Nikon's AIS family of prime lenses. It has great image quality, smooth operation and great low light performance. It is a little bigger in size than the 50mm and 24mm AIS lenses that I own but it is a great all around lens for Nikon manual film cameras.

The angle of covrage and what it does is absolutly amasing but I got very disappointed when I zoomed in to the image it is too soft for a architectural lens. I happen to own four other lenses made by Nikon 24, 28, 45 and 85 mm PC lenses they are all sharp this one is unusably soft.

I have to say something about this lens for the right application is special. It's center sharp close focus little distortion small and built to last. I shoot landscape as well as close work and street photography, this lens shines. It's not a 20 or 28mm and it's not a 50mm and for some reason i use it a lot.
