MV88 leaves no chance for the recording quality of the Iphone's built-in microphone. The embarrassment of the built-in microphones is an automatic adjustment of the sound level, whereas for MV88 the sensitivity is adjustable and it does not "jump" during the recording.
The MV88 is incredibly easy to use, so you don’t need to spend too much time installing and configuring it, instead of enjoying the great time.
MV88 Digital Stereo Condenser Microphone connects to any iOS device with a Lightning connector. After a little testing and comparing the audio recorded on the internal microphone of my iPhone and MV88, I realized that with the new microphone I would be able to catch every breath with maximum clarity. MV88, of course, did everything necessary to record the sound of my video, but at the same time I got some important lessons for myself that I want to share with you.
Rule number 1: activate the flight mode in your Iphone
Each of you have heard before a strange electronic impulse that appears when the phone is next to the speaker. At the moment when the mobile device receives and transmits data, it can create radio frequency interference. Any microphone connected to the phone will be susceptible to such an influence and the creator of sound defects on your recordings. If you activate the flight mode in your Iphone, you can completely avoid this problem.
Rule number 2: I am sure that you have a suitable windscreen.
MV88 comes with its own windshield and application, which has wind suppression, but if you plan to record in particularly windy places, you should definitely consider buying deadcat. This special accessory helps many professionals and helps block any gusts of wind on your recording.
Rule number 3: check the compatibility of the Iphone protective cover.
The MV88 is attached directly to your Iphone. Many protective covers are not adapted to use an additional microphone. In any case, just remove it and the problem disappeared, but if you are very worried about protecting your own device, then the tick is that the cover will be adapted to connect the MV88.Read full review
It's good. Gain has to be maxed on the app for this microphone in order to get a substantially better sound quality than the iPhone microphone, otherwise if you just use live band preset, it's of lesser quality than the iPhone internal microphone, for electric guitar recording. Adjust the recording type to full scope, which is full gain. Full gain doesn't result in distortion, in this case, terminologically and functionally speaking.
Next step for live open recording, is a higher quality microphone attachment to the iphone, if to have audio-video as one, not combined through a separate interface, which then gets linked to the iPhone vid. I like it all in one, all in one take,… hence the microphone to the iPhone, as one file of recording.
Best external microphone for the money - completely blown away by the quality
I'm the Station Director for BigReggaeMix.com, and I researched a lot of different external mics for an iPhone - and this is the one I chose. I just received it today, and tested it out - and it's PHENOMENAL. It literally produces studio quality sound, and the app is pretty easy to use too. The wind protector also doubles as a very effective pop filter, and it really makes music (live or recorded) sound amazing. I would highly recommend this mic!
I’ve always wanted to get into recording myself in a clean way so I could really see/hear where I need to improve. This blew me away upon the first recording. Took some tweaking of the settings in the MOTIV app but once I found what worked I was sold. Have been trying to record with an iPhone which was poor quality. Didn’t have time or want to spend the money on mic’ing my whole kit, getting an interface and software etc. Wanted something quick and easy that delivered a crisp clear sound and this was a home run. Great product and highly recommend.
I did a lot of research when looking for an external mic to improve my iOS products. There are many good options but I found this one had the best build quality and to boot was built specifically for iOS devices. I am a drummer and I have a hard time trying to record drum related situations with the built in mic on an iPad or iPhone. The hi hat and snare are usually the first things to overdrive a built in mic. Well, not with this little guy! I am so pleased with the results you can get with this little easy to use mic. Just based on the fact that you now have a high quality mic that can handle any musical situation makes this a winner. Plus, with the app shure has made for this setup you have total control of your mix. EQ, compression, several polar patterns for the mic and easy to use recording software. Also after you open the app and set the mic as you want, when you go to the camera to shoot s video the settings are maintained while you shoot. This is definitely a winner in my book. Of course I am speaking more to musical situations and not so much about interview type situations.Read full review
