Packaged damn well and works even better!
My used intel i7 6700K came in the mail and I've been waiting for the rest of my parts and build before I wrote a review. I finally have my PC up and running and this CPU is a BEAST. Absolutely love it and perfect for my streaming/gaming rig. Everything I could have asked for and easy to overclock with the right CPU cooler. This came in the mail quickly and there were absolutely no issues with the CPU. It looked like it had only just been removed from the box! Absolutely love the product. The packaging was a little difficult to get through which worried me that i might damage my CPU while opening the packaging but this thing was definitely safe in transit. It's now houses comfortably in my gaming MOBO.

Best CPU at an awesome deal too!
Purchased this processor for only $270! I have this CPU running at stock speeds at the moment, and with the normal boosts to 4.2Ghz I can play games smoothly, record the gameplay and have multiple tabs open in the background. Max temperature is 60° centigrade with a Phanteks PHTC12DX tower cooler with no Overclocking, and with a small overclock to 4.5Ghz using the ROG Maximus VIII Ranger OC presets and some tweaking, I can run this CPU at 1.264v with a max temperature of 65° centigrade by using a custom fan curve. I haven't stress tested this CPU with Prime95, but overall I am happy with the purchase.

Great step-up from the older 1155 i7 CPUs
If you're on a 2nd or 3rd gen (2600k/3770k) i7 this is a great step up without spending a lot. I was also able to use my existing AIO cooler [Kraken M22] unit from an 1155 to the 1151 6700k socket. You also get to have up to DDR4 this will be an additional cost but you will see a boost here also, the 6700k also has more head room for OC if you go that route but I noticed 6700k runs much hotter OC'ed [to 4.6GHZ] on the same cooler as my old 2600k up to 10 degrees on the same cooler. If you can't make the jump to the 9700k them this if the sweet spot, if you have an old Z170/Z270 mobo laying around and want to build a system this is a economical was to do it.

Excellent processor and the last in the line that can be used on Win7
Very nice processor, easily overclocks to 4.5-4.6 on air and 4.8+ on water, if you want to use windows 7 but with a newer CPU get this, if you like windows 10 and dont care about your privacy buy the 7700k because its basically this same chip with a little bit more speed. Both are great.

It's a great Processor
The only thing that this doesn't have that the newer Kaby Lake 7700K has is a higher non overclocked frequency and 4K video DRM capability if using on board graphics. If you don't plan to overclock and void warranty, by all means, get the 7700 non K, but if you plan on overclocking and can find a deal on this, get it over the 7700K. It performs stellarly and runs very cool compared to 3rd and 4th generation i7s.

I could not have asked for more when it comes to a CPU.
I could not be happier with this processor. I wanted the best and for a good price and this is it! right now you don't need a more powerful processor than this(IMO), this one will do the job for many years to come for you. as all of intels CPU. they are incredible easy to install and after wards you will need to apply a Thermal Paste to it and place a CPU cooler on top of it! but that's another deal. you will notice how incredible fast you computer is now if you upgrade to this processor.

Great CPU
Upgrade from the 6600k i-5 produced improved load times and enhanced graphics benchmarks without noticeable cooling demand increase.. Game play is smoother and cad application response remarkably improved. System comprised of gigabyte z170a mb, 32gb j.skill ripsaw 2300 RAM, nvidia geforce gtx 970 ssc x2, Samsung m.2 ssd system drive, Toshiba 2tb storage drive, 850w psu. 4x 120mm 1x 200mm cooling fans. Over clock with confidence if you so choose. I run my equipment at stock clocks to keep temperature as low as possible for longevity of all components. The i-7 6700k is worth the extra few dollars. Highly recommended as prices fall.

Fast & stable
Just finished my new build and by far the best cpu yet. Have done a lot of research before buying and it live up to its rep with amazing stability and speed I have it oced to 4.5 and can easily got to 4.8 but I don't believe it needed but did test it and held no problem at 60 c during stress test with a cool master 212 evo cooler. I recommend this to any one looking for a fast pc and not looking to trouble shoot as with the reviews for the i7 7700.

The Intel® Core™ i7-6700 Processor is an outstanding piece of hardware, I've installed it in an Asus Z170 motherboard and the pc is flying, boot times have improved, softwares are much faster and everything is butter smooth on a 4K setup. The pc has 16gb of DDR4 ram with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 and most games run at 2K with high resolution, it can run photoshop, illustrator and Indesign simultaneously. I have also tried rendering videos in full HD in After Effects and the PC still manages to be fast during the rendering with minimal effect on the rendering speed. Overall, this a great processor for intensive graphic design work (static images, videos and a even rendering CGI pictures) and mid to high range gaming. Highly recommended.
