    Quite surprised!

I purchased this as a prop for a music video. I never expected it to work for $30. When a made a first recording I was pleasantly surprised. The response was very good, low noise and much better than I was expecting. The quality is really quite good although a preamp would do wonders. It comes with a high z cable (XLR to 1/4") so I am betting a fully balanced cable will help quite a bit. It's unmistakable at first glance. That iconic Turner 101A we love so much It has a mic stand thread and reducer for smaller mounts. All in all, a very nice package for the price.

    Mic good. Cable bad

The cable was defective. One wire was loose and needed resoddering. After reconnected it with tape, volume was very low. When i switched to one of my cables it worked great. Xlr to xlr sounded better than xlr to quarter inch. It could have been just that particular cable though. Sound quality was good enough to make you cool looking when making announcements. Not sure about singing quality though.

  • Buy it- you'll love it!

Surprisingly clear, clean, quality vocals. No hesitation to use it live gigging as a backup or primary mic. I sing lead country, southern and classic rock and blues and this mic gets it done as needed. Love the retro styling.

  • Thanks, Mao Mafia!

The best the Mao Mafia has to offer, which ain't a very high bar. Cheap, plugs right into any 3.5mm input, works great with Audacity in Windows and Linux, and cool retro design. Only downer is the cheap plastic construction which I expected upon ordering it.

  • ITS ALRIGHT ITS A PYLE

I was expecting more because of the looks of this mic , I should have known better , I fell in love with the look of it , but I had a Pyle mic before and through my experience with Pyle its lacking Depth, Sound, Distance from mic is not very good have to get right up on it to even know it's working with volume up half way on Amp, if your in the market for a new mic....*KEEP LOOKING* this will be a Huge Disappointment, love the look , sound quality is not good at all .

  • Mic magic

My wife and daughter love to sing. In the car and in the house its singing. I love it. So we have a bluetooth speaker that they love to crank up . Then I saw this combo, the mic and the right cord to hook it up and I had to have it for them. Great sound and a retro look along with the stand I bought separately made for the perfect set up. It was their perfect gift.

  • Photo Prop that sounds much better than most lower priced mics.

I bought this for my grand-daughter to use as a senior picture prop. She hooked it up and it sounds very good for the price. This mic is plastic so I got a mic extension to leave on it to save the threads. The mic cable is very cheap made, I gave Her a better cable to use with. Yes I would buy it again, great mic for the price and my Grand- Daughter thinks it's cool.

  • Pyle mic review

Sound seems to have too much bass with tone set flat. May be due to the mic housing. Took out element and used a metal housing which seem to balance out the bass for a more natural sound with excellent bass and treble characteristics

  • Great sound

Sounds better than the thing it's copying. I had two of the shure reissues in the past paid 5+ times the cost. This mic is lighter (I chipped a tooth years ago on one of the metal ones) (can't see that being an issue here) one issue I see is that the mic cable wouldn't "snap" all the way I had to duct tape it to make sure it didn't come loose during performance. Also I believe the screw in threads are plastic also which I could see eventually becoming an issue. What I think I'll do is get an extender and keep it screwed into the mic all the time. No biggie. But sound wise A+ and at least right now it's shinier than the metal mics. Looks great under the colored lights. I love it so far.

  • Vintage Microphone

Got my new vintage microphone today and was impressed. Although the case is made of plastic, it really duplicates the original metal microphone. The sound quality is not bad and it mounts quickly to any standard microphone stand. Not bad for the price! RDS53
