Bottom line is all about the GREEN and NOTHING else in BETWEEN!!
Well, here it is. After years of being one of the original XBOX360, I switch to PS3 because I did not want to dish out the $60 to play online on the XBox360. The Sonny online is not as bad as people describe. Its only on the Sony games server that you will not get good quality, however the EA server I found is the same. So no doubt go with Sonny for free if you are an online gamer. The Graphics are poor on the Sonny PS3 is so bad that when you are playing Madden you go from HD to regular TV graphics. If you want graphics, stick with the XBOX360. Its not even close. The controller is about even. Even though the Sonny controller won't destroyed your fingers pressing it like the 360 controller, it leaves something to be desired. Its has a slow reaction when you press the button so delicacy is not necessary better. The Sonny INTERFACE is less personal, more harsh, but if you are a serious gamer like I am the Sonny will feel more serious than the 360 children INTERFACE. Overall I say except for the MLB THE Show Sonny game, most games are the same on both systems. If you like racing game, I prefer the Microsoft FORZA series by far. The gameplay, graphics, of the Microsoft games have no match. So in conclusion if you can afford to dish out $60 every year to play online stay with the 360 if not go with the PS3. Its basically a matter of economics, like everything else in life.Read full review
Slimmer Design means less Space, The only problem I have with it so Far is that fact that it does not have a surge protector on the power supply, I mean what is sony thinking for their overseas customers. Also the Hard drive is harder to remove in this Playstation than the last generation. I "fried" my last ps3 due to a Power Surge here in Europe, I removed the hard drive and went to put it in this one and voila... No Bueno, or at least it wasnt that easy, I got it in and had no problems except I voided he warranty doing this. Other than these SMALL issues, Sony has continued to Amaze me with their designs.
This arrived and it was indeed in excellent condition. It was like new. It contained everything. Even the remote controller. The system itself was in brand new condition and the controller too.
Very satisfied. I still an VERY surprised in just how incredible the condition was and how much of the equipment was still included. When they say excellent condition they mean it.
Console and controller came both as described everything works flawlessly the reason I did not give 5 stars is only because 3 of the bottom grips were missing wich is ething very small and fixable just wasn't expecting 3 out of 4 grips to be missing lol
A must have for the serious gamer, but no substitute for the Xbox 360...
I have owned an Xbox 360 for years and am a happy and loyal Xbox-er. Recently Playstation has been coming out with more exclusive titles that looked amazing and as a result I began looking for a PS3. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and am loving all the PS3 exclusive games. But now the important stuff:
Pros:
Great graphics and processing abilities,
Excellent games,
BluRay player (even though I havent used it yet),
nearly silent when running (360 is much louder),
3D capability (even though I don't have a 3D TV and as such havent used that either)
Cons:
Controllers and Operating system are not as intuitive as the Xbox 360 (but after a while you get used to them).
Extremely slow downloads and installs - every game requires updates and patches to be downloaded and installed, which is nothing new. However, it often takes hours, whereas the 360 only takes minutes. This can be extremely frustrating when you get a new game and are excited to play it.
Very high power use - The PS3 uses much more power than the 360 (even when switched off). After the first power bill I decided to use a surge protector, which I switch off when I'm not playing.
Non upgrade-able hard drive - Not a problem as long as you get a big enough one the first time. The 120 gig should be fine for most gamers, but beware of trying to save $ by getting a unit with a smaller hard drive, you may regret it later.
It may seem like there are more cons than pros, but overall I am VERY happy with the PS3 and won't be parting with it anytime soon. Recently I have been playing it much more than my Xbox, which says a lot. It seems like an Xbox is more versatile, catering to the most hardcore gamers while still being very accessible to casual gamers. I think the PS3 is much more suited to serious gamers considering the greater cost and less user friendly market.
In summary, for a serious gamer the PS3 is a must have, especially considering the exclusive titles it offers (Uncharted, Infamous, Twisted Metal, Killzone, God of War, etc, etc...). However, for the casual gamer I would stick with the Xbox 360 as it is much cheaper, and far easier to pick up and play with a shorter learning curve.
Also, make sure to buy the latest version of the PS3 (ie Slim, etc.) as it will definitely perform better and function longer.
In the great Xbox 360 vs. PS3 debate, I say both!
