This stomp box does what it claims (adding bass and drums for a solo player), and it sounds great, but, it's not quite as easy to use as you might hope. Digitech products never are, but every few years I get sucked in and buy another one of their products, which usually ends up gathering dust on the closet shelf. I think that this one, however shows a lot of promise, and will warrant me taking the time to sit down and really learn it...someday. The drums and bass accompaniment sounds very authentic, and not canned or fakey. To take full advantaqe of this product and its features, you may want/need to buy an FS3X Digitech foot switch, for ~ $35 +/-. Would I buy this product again? After some hesitation, I'll say yes, because it does sound good, and I think it has a lot of potential. Good playing, friends.Read full review

The pedal is fantastic for practicing at home, however this unit is NOT workable for live use unless you have time to dial it in between songs. I worked with it for 2 weeks and just couldn't make it work for my Solo Show needs. Don't get me wrong, the sound quality is great! But, it just didn't work for me.

This thing does what it claims and is a lot of fun. But if you intend to use it for live performance it needs a software dashboard / editor / librarian for backup and management. It is too easy to forget where you are and/or screw things up. The bass parts are better than expected. I would gladly trade the metal genre for reggae and more useful latin beats but that's just my preference. I recorded some of my own bass parts into the looper. That helps.

Despite some obvious limitations insofar as intuitive adaptation to everyone's particular playing style, this box is truly a fine accompanist for the solo player who is tired of waiting for the "right" potential bandmates to show up in BandMix. Loads of fun and not a lot of bucks for the bang provided, and if recording is your thing, you can add a Digitech JamMan or similar and loop to your heart's content.

This review is for the Trio Band Creator (TBC) not the Trio Plus. The TBC is easy to use and creates some great backing tracks once you get the hang of creating 'loops' for your songs (the bass and drum tracks the trio creates run in a loop). Even though I am an experienced musician I had never used a looper before so it took me a little while to get the hang of breaking a song down to loops that repeat properly and transition correctly from loop to loop (like verse loop to chorus loop). When creating a loop it's important to pick the correct beat to start and stop the recording on because if you pick to wrong beat the trio will misinterpret the time signature or style of your loop and create something that won't work for your song (starting and stopping on the 1 beat of the measure works perfectly). The sound of the trio's backing bass and drums is more than good enough for practice and when sent to a PA or similar full range amp (like a vocal or acoustic amp) sound really good. The TBC can TEMPORARILY save and manage three loops at a time which can then be used to back different parts of your songs...verse, chorus, bridge, etc. The TBC does NOT allow you to save the loops you create permanently for recall at a later date. It takes some time to build the loops for a full song so thankfully there is a way to work around the lack of a save function...I simply send the TBC output to my pc and save the loops there. Then on the pc I can manage and sequence my loops as I see fit to create a full backing track for an entire song. As many have noted in their reviews the TBC does seem to default to overly complex arrangements for a newly created loop but when it does this it's super easy to twist the knob down to select a simpler arrangement. So far I have not been able to figure out how to get the trio to not play-through a stop in songs with stops but hey I can't tell you how many times I've played with a real rythm section that played right through the stops so I guess I should be used to it. If the Trio would show up drunk for practice every once in a while that would be great and would make me feel right at home. I've had this for two days now and am loving it!Read full review

Lots of fun. Used it for a stand-in at Sunday service twice and got props from people. Fairly easy to use, just don't over do the teaching mode. Really great for practice/jam nights.
