Does what it says, and well made, but quite a limited list of z wave components it's compatible with. Might be better to buy one of the newer smart home devices that control a more comprehensive list of z wave devices. However, if you only require it to work with items on the list from the Logitech website it's fine.
I added this to gain control of a single Zwave device - a dry contact Remotec item. Although the hub can connect and control it, it does so intermittently. Works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. And unfortunately, its' addition seems to have caused trouble with the WiFi Hub itself. Now it is also losing connection intermittently. Have been experimenting with location and connection for two weeks now, and am going to go out and buy a Samsumg to gain Zwave control. Too bad, because the convenience of controlling zwave from the Harmony held remote is a nice feature when it works.
I bought this to integrate with my HomeSeer Z-wave automation system. I was running a Aeotec Stick S2, but the hub extender would not pair with it. After purchasing a HomeSeer Smartstick+, I was able to pair and have the two talk. The hub then downloaded the devices it could recognize, but it couldn't tell what each device was. Some switches were labeled as outlets and vice versa. I had to test each from the Harmony phone app to figure out what it went to and change the device appropriately and label them. The other problem was that it was very difficult to get this to sync with my Harmony One remote so I could see and control the devices. It took several days of tinkering to finally get the devices to show up on the remote to allow me to control them. Once this was working, I have been able to easily control my lights with a push of the button on the remote. Setup is not user friendly but is a great additional once it works.Read full review
Since adding Home Hub Extender Harmony Ultimate home remote fails to function as it did before not turning on all activities or none then times out indicating an error loading activities, have been on phone with Harmony reset sync etc, works til its plugged into the charging stand then problem re-occurrs, then have to re-sync or even reboot, still has problems. Well have to escalute to next level of customer service for resolution.
