The USB sockets are looser than any others I have seen; unsure if these are in spec. The adapter warms more than I had expected, even when the ports are not used. Those remarks put aside, the adapter works fine with my gadgets.

The card is recognized by Windows 10 and drivers are loaded OK, but when using the card, it fails to deliver enough power to drive certain HDD's. SSD's in general works fine, but only one at a time. When connecting two or more, it fails. The only way to restore the card to full operation each time it fails, is to reboot the PC. When it works, it works. I can copy a 10Gb file to or from any SSD at high speed. The price was good, so perhaps I cannot expect more?

Anything that requires anything over bare minimum of current causes the card to disappear from the system for a couple of seconds, reappear and ad nausea, until offending device is removed. This includes any fast USB 3.0 pendrives, HD webcams, USB 802.11ac cards, not to mention USB 3.0 HDDs, which outright refuse to even start spinning up. This is not a limitation of a single notebook, I checked the adapter inside the line of HP Elitebooks, couple of Dell mobile workstations and Compal DTR I have around - it's just unprepared to deliver any significant current to the ports. It works quite good, if powered USB 3.0 hub is connected - but that kinda defeats the purpose of the device in the first place. At least it works as another bunch of low-power usb ports.

Since the device itself doesn't have external power input port it is not able to power even two USB disks. Other than that it is perfect it supplies the speed on all ports. If someone plans to run non-externally powered usb disks than buy the 2 port version.

It works fine but when using two usb3.0 external HDD, it won't work properly or maybe can't support two external HDD.
