Exactly what I needed
Exactly what I needed! These are the same type of bags I used to get in the grocery store. But I live in California, where people are voting to outlaw plastic bags. So what do we have instead? Paper!! Of course. The same paper grocery bags that the Californians whined about 20 years ago because we were "killing the forests". So now we're back where we started, Unbelievable. But thank goodness these bags are available on eBay! I bring my plastic bags with me to the grocery store. I don't want fabric bags that have mold and other junk growing inside them (remember folks, bacteria LOVES a dark, moist place....and that's why cloth bags are dangerous to your health). Use plastic! Just what I was looking for
These are plenty big enough and easy to stuff a few in your pocket as you head out grocery shopping, as sturdy as what stores used to use to bag groceries in before. Our area stores recently started charging for their paper bags and no longer even offer the plastic ones, so these are just what I was looking for. We reuse the plastic grocery bags for a lot of other stuff around the house such as storage, cleaning up after the dogs, etc. They are also great for picking up trash when out hiking and the kids use them to pick up "treasures" when beach combing. Larger than supermarket bags but smaller than department stores
I purchased the bags that were closest to the measurements I had from a sample and these fit my kitchen trash can liner just fine. I wish they were a little bigger but I bought 1000 so I'll be using them at least 3 years. This particular box has bags that are really thin (think the thinnest available for disposable shopping bags) but I like that since it takes less plastic to make them. These bags are larger than the old supermarket bags (I'm thinking Ralphs) but smaller than the ones from department stores (I'm thinking Kohls). These are the same plastic bags that you would get at the grocery store. Good quality. Good price. Great quantity. They say "Thank you. Gracias" printed in thin red lettering that is unobtrusive. Some of the lettering is blurred but this is not readily noticeable and doesn't affect the usefulness of the bag. I would use them even if I had a store and plastic bags were legal in my area. Love these plastic grocery bags!
We use the plastic grocery bags for so many household tasks. Will miss them when they force us back to using paper bags, even though I know it's better for the environment. People need to learn to properly dispose of them. They make great smaller waste basket liners, table scraps, and meat wrappings after opening.
