I'm not new to the TWH world. I've been using one for almost 20 years. However, the brand I had before was nowhere NEAR as well-made as this. During the 20 years I used that brand, I had to replace it FOUR times due to leaks. And, I had to replace the motherboard twice due to component failure. The Eco27 is simplicity itself. No convoluted motherboards with a ton of components to burn out. The chambers are COPPER unlike the former brand I had which were plastic or resin. I did a LOT of research before I chose the Eco27. After I installed it (which was a piece of cake following the instructions), I was rather surprised to find how quickly it heated the water. My old unit had four elements and it didn't heat the water as fast as the Eco27 with three. These guys did it RIGHT. Be sure to use their sizing guide to determine which Ecosmart is right for you.Read full review

The item received in days after purchase, it do take a while before I really check on it, when I opened the package, it shows a lot of marks that this item has been used and get returned, I have installed 5 of the same heaters from different retailers, this one is definitely not a new (other), it is used!

The unit does require 3 double 40amp breakers and will use the power if required. However, my use is typically one service (shower, washer, kitchen stuff) at a time and I measured the amperage at about half of full demand. My water intake temperature ranges from about 50 to 60 degrees. I also measured the water temperature output and it is within 3 degrees of the setting display. When I leave for extended periods I love that I can shut off the system completely with the push of a button. The price is right and the space saving is outstanding. My electric bill in Marshall NC was averaging about $150 per month (all electric house). Now I'm averaging $138. I'll continue to monitor if the savings continue.

After I received this product a couple months ago, I was finally able to get the electrical and plumbing companies to complete the installation this past week. I actually have trending meters installed to see how much is being used as compared to my old 50 gallon electric water heater. Currently heats my water very quickly and the heaters modulate as demand increases and/or decreases. Very small and compact. I am so far pleased with this product. Now to see about warranty because supposedly registration has to be completed within 30 days of purchase and I could not get the two companies to come to complete installation in a timely fashion. Hope to post another review after few months of operation.

This is the water heater of the future. It heats water as much and as fast as my old 50 gallon water heater without using all the electricity and without taking up a massive amount of space as my old one did. I will have to warn anyone that is thinking about buying one that it isn't easy to install. My husband is an electrician. You have to have a licensed electrician and plumber to install it to be able to warranty it through the company. Over all though it would save you the money you spend to set it up in just the first year on your electric bill!

I have had this installed for a couple of weeks now and it has been working very well. I live in the Syracuse, NY area (Upstate NY) and my incoming water temp is about 40 degrees in January. I'm not able to get hot water for the bathtub as I believe that the faucet is pulling water to fast. In this case I have to draw less water and then it's fine. I wait less time for the hot water for a shower or to wash my hands vs. a water tank heater. The install was easy enough and the unit does not leak. We are happy with that as it's only running when we want hot water so we love the money savings vs. a gas water heater that's always burning fuel. If you have older incandescent light bulbs you will notice a little flicker when using hot water. I have converted mostly to LED bulbs at this point but there are some old incandescents that I still have to change out and then there wont be any flickering.Read full review
