Bios Programmer
I just got this in the mail a few days ago. I thought I would need it when I got it, but I managed to get the computer working again without this. I wanted to have it on hand just in case. Now the one thing I would have like is for the pins to have been soldered. Unfortunately this one only comes with two sets. Meaning you can only choose to use them on one side. You will need another set for the opposite side. The reason is that with all the pins on there, you can use one of the clips for soldered bios chips without having to de-solder the chip. Then you just plug that small board to the usb programmer and still use it that way. Unfortunately this one also doesn't come with that other clip to complete the set so you have both ways to update any bios chip. I had some other pins on hand an managed to solder my own, but it was a bit harder than it seems. Doable, but it did take a bit of time. Other than this, the programmer also doesn't come with software or any links to it. So I haven't actually used it yet. I did plug it in in order to check it and the red led did come on.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap and effective.
The device is ok in terms of build quality. Even has a fuse which saved me when I inserted a chip the wrong way. ZIF socket has a bit of play. Markings on the ZIF socket would have been nice to easily identify the placement of 24 and 25 series chips. It comes with an adapter for two other sizes of chips.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works perfectly

Very useful
This board is natively supported in Linux (tested on 4.17). In the SPI mode (selectable by jumper), the programmer can be easily accessed by flashrom using programmer interface "ch341a_spi". The programmer was tested on BIOS EEPROM on Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2L. In the UART mode (selectable by jumper), the device appears as TTY device, which means you can access it as any standard serial console. The I2C mode was not tested, as I do not have such EEPROM to test it on. To conclude, a very handy tool for an IT technican.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
