The last Nintendo handheld I own was a Gamboy Color back in 1998. I moved on with the Playstation and didn't continue with Nintendo's handhelds even since. I did loved the PSP which was a big thing in 2005 which I can listen to music and watch videos on the go before Smartphones. In that time period I never got a DS, DSi and 3DS since I thought the games from Nintendo are childish and not that hardcore enough but now that I am in my late 30s I want to revisit my childhood. I also heard the E-shop is closing so I might as well download as much of the virtual console games that I can download. I am shocked when I first got it how good the 3D is and it doesn't bother me that much. I did sticked an old 32gb micro SD card and all the big downloads I keep getting errors. That was my mistake since I am waiting on a faster new SD card on the mail. I am downloading old Gameboy color games and SNES games are going to be gone next year. I am liking it so far it just hate that downloading big games like Resident Evil Revelations take forever. I have to remember that the wifi chip in that 3DS is from 2015 also the SD card is from 2013. Overall I am having a good time with the 3D in most games.Read full review

Got this Ds at a great price which I am thankful for, but the 11 games did not come with it but were pre-installed (not mentioned in bio) with the users ID so I cant reset anything or I lose the downloaded games. Ds also came pretty dirty. Very sad about not receiving the carterages. The system itself appears to be working fine.

The "NEW" Nintendo 3DS XL gives you access to hours of entertainment. This device plays DS and 3Ds titles along with its digital Store where you can purchasse gameboy, nes and snes titles. It accepts micro flash cards so no worry about running out of storage space. The form factor has improved, less weight, sharper corners and a slimmed down case makes this system feel good in your hands. The gimmick of 3D isn't neccessary to have a good time, but I do prefer to have it, if only because of the leap forward in visual technology it provides. I switch it on from time to time, when I want a cool view of something in game, or when playing the AR games. The internet browser is lacking, it refuses to stream video, and the Youtube app was recently removed. However, Netflix is available for this device. All together this is a great handheld Gaming system. The best Nintendo has to offer in the modern gameboy Line of products.Read full review

A step forwards the original 3DS XL! The unit I got was sold for parts, but I write this review for the console as a product; the tracked 3D function allows the user to view the 3D effect at a much wider angle compared to its predecessor, a second set of bumpers and thumbstick enlarge the play possibilities and also has a somewhat sturdier build. One drawback for me is that it doesn't have extremely unique features compared to the not-New 3DS XL especially considering it's sadly part of a discontinued console family, making the 3DS XL still avantageous if new features and wider game catalogue are not on the table.

I have played one hour of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and almost an hour of Kid Icarus: Uprising on this 3DS. The games on this system have superior pixel density (pixels per inch) than my New 3DS XL. The graphics are just a little sharper on this 3DS, with the pixels being squeezed smaller due to the smaller screen. Truth be told, I bought this for that reason and it delivers. The system came earlier than expected and I am happy with my purchase. This system costed me $320 (more with shipping and tax) but I know I will get my money’s worth because of my long 3DS backlog. This is what I believe to be the quintessential 3DS system because of its smaller screen offering bigger pixel density/graphics, and its small size offering better portability. The rest of the the 3DS family (the five other models) have features that this one has, but this one has the superior pixel density - along with the original 3DS, but this one has superior processing power being the ‘New’ model - and the portability. This is a magnificent console and it came in almost new condition; maybe a few light scratches, but they were almost unnoticeable. The console still looks new at first glance, even to this day a month later. I am very, very satisfied with my purchase.Read full review

I have a nintendo dsi XL and it seems better to handle then the 3ds but i cant get all the games i want for it so i bought the 3ds. im not sure how many people know that you can shut off the 3D mode on the 3ds. that is awsome. they need to advertise that because so many people wont buy the 3ds because it makes them feel sick. that is why i did not want to buy it until i read from another reviewer that you can shut it off or adjust it. it has a slider on the side of the upper screen that can be adjusted to either make the 3D less stronger or to shut it off and then its like a regular DS. so far, i really like it. the screen is a great size and the 3d is pretty cool too.

Ostensibly I bought this as a birthday present for my daughter. But actually I wanted to relive some old memories too. The new 2DS XL being released in July was not good timing for being a present, so I thought a used 3DS XL would be a little cheaper, plus have 3D. Win win. It's a great little console. I played with the regular (non-XL) size too, but the screen is obviously smaller and the bezel is too annoying. No, this is the one to get, and it has a fairly advanced tracking tech so that the 3D effect follows your eyes around - unlike the previous generation of these handhelds. Putting Pilotwings Resort on in 3D is fantastic, a real joy, as the 3D makes it look like you're flying a cute model airplane. And Super Mario 3D Land just pops with colors and the 3D looks beautiful. It'll be a shame to hand it over to my daughter on her birthday! Cons: the hardware isn't very advanced technically, the screen resolution is poor for 2017. Well, it was poor for 2015. And probably before that. Pluses: the games! the 3D! the colors pop and the games are just charming (I am usually a hardened PS4 player of open-world shooters).Read full review

I've never been an "early adopter" (mostly due to low income). This is one of those products that reminds me why... A few months ago, I got an excellent deal on the New 3DS XL (here on Ebay, as it happens). It's one of the best game-related purchases I've ever made. I recently bought a "1st gen" 3DS XL (which I am now reviewing) for a special project, and it makes me wonder how they made enough profit on them to get to the "New" stage! Even *with* the active eye tracking on my "New" model, there are some glitches in the 3D effect. The "old" one borders on unusable with its *very* tiny "sweet spot". Even if you stay within this small zone and the 3D is stable, there are still some very distracting moire effects going on. I'm indebted to the intrepid early adopters who stuck with this old technology enough to convince Nintendo that the R&D on the 2nd gen model would be profitable. The old model is fine if you want to try some of the games and see if 3D gaming is for you, but if you can't get it for a significantly better price, just get a New model, instead. It's well worth it.Read full review

The product is in great condition aside from a few barely noticeable scratches on the outside of the console. Controls work well and everything is in working order. As for the game, aside from there already being saved data on the cartridge, it works just fine and is a great reintroduction into the Pokemon games for a returning Pokemon fan like myself. The saved data was no big deal to get rid of after a quick online search and I was able to begin playing the game from the beginning quickly. Overall, great products for a good price.

I love my New Nintendo 3DS XL. I can play a lot of the older Nintendo games that I played as a kid and it makes for hours of fun. I love it. The DS works very quickly and has excellent graphics. I am very pleased with the New Nintendo 3DS XL and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an awesome gaming system.
