Has all the same functionality of any 3DS XL. Just the "New" 3DS XL is better at all of them, plus a few more features. It has 2 left and right shoulder switches compared to 1 set on the original 3DS XL. It has a new C stick, which I have not used as of yet, but many say it helps with camera angles. The 3D feature has been improved, when passing it from person to person, you can see the screen jiggle as the camera recognizes the new holder and optimizes the 3D image displayed. Faster when navigating basic menus. But the main reason I purchased this product is that it is the best looking Zelda console to date. Well in my opinion. They are out of production currently and most people will have to pay a premium to get one in like new condition.

About the console itself, it's a decent improvement from an old 3DS, but not so much from a 3DS XL. As someone who plays 3DS over home consoles, I really appreciate the bigger screens and finally being able to play in 3D (impossible in older 3DS); the rest of features are so-so...and that's coming from an avid monster hunter player (over 700 hours with both bm and guns). What higly decreases its value is the lack of exclusive games. About the "majora's mask edition", pricy and not really worthy. I only bought it because I could afford a luxury/stupid ítem for muy bday. There's people here selling only the shells and nintendo is dropping these special edition consoles like crazy anyways.

I absolutely love this 3DS. The design is stunning and everything works beautifully. I've added a lot of protection of my own including a full body "screen protector" as well as a hard case to the top. Then, I had to make it easier for my hands to wrap around, so I bought the rubber hand grip that you see in the pictures. You can get those from Toys R Us for 20.00. The box creaked when it opened for this DS, and it just lit me up as I pulled it out and realized it hadn't been touched by a single hand but my own. Beautiful product, I am so happy!

The BEAUTIFUL Majora's Mask Edition 3DS is simply stunning. I have had the very first 3DS (blue) and the Link Between Worlds edition 3DS XL. None compare to this. The active 3D feature makes this system a joy to play and exclusive titles such as Xenoblade (hopefully more to come) make full use of the c-stick which is perfect for looking around. This is what the original 3DS should have been! Faster, longer battery life, a great screen (was lucky enough to get the IPS screen, not the TN panel) and an "extra" joystick / thumb stud / circle pad for looking around. GREAT in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate! This system's battery life is PHENOMENAL. A 7 hour bus ride from Vienna through Graz, then Slovenia, and then to Varazdin and finally Zagreb only used up 75% with high volume with headphones and the 3D effect fully on, screen brightness level 4. I am truly impressed by the quality and finish of the paint, the newer and better processing speed, and the active 3D system (no more pesky sweet spot). The only part where it falls short is graphics, but hey... it's a handheld and if they loaded 1080p like on phones and other systems, goodbye battery life. The graphics are enough, that is very fair to say. Xenoblade's text looks a little choppy, but games like MH4U, Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, Alpha Sapphire, and Fire Emblem: Awakening are GORGEOUS. I cannot wait for the new Fire Emblem Fates and the new Final Fantasy Explorers. They will be a true marvel to behold on this wonderful must-have system.Read full review

This handheld specifically is exactly what you want if you are looking for a collectible handheld that has almost everything. It can read the NPC's from all Amiibo's without needing any other accessories. The only downside to this device is the fact that you have to physically take the back off of it to install a larger SD stick for downloaded games or saves. This devise comes with no charger or game. I personally love the majora's mask gold shell, even though it is prone to fade and make the dark edges from paint melting wear. The hinges seem to hold a lot stronger than other special edition models. I bought a used 250+ hour worn one and the unit was equally as solid as a 1 week old one.
