I decided to invest in what is the most expensive straighter I have have owned. I usually purchase a new straightener ever couple of years at TJ Maxx for about $40-$50. I almost always curl my hair and all my previous straighteners would break a strand here or there each time and over time this adds up very quickly. I saw this straightener at Ulta and believed it would be the answer to my problem and I was right. It is designed well for straightening or curling. I have used it a couple dozen times and no no broken strands! I will say I have to use more product for a curl that would hold vs my previous straighteners but this is a small price to pay for the benefits of a smooth operating tool that does not have any areas that catch and break off strands of hair.

This flat iron is not like a conventional iron. The outside plates get hot too... this can be used as a wand and it makes beautiful curls. I do suggest buying a glove to use with it because the hot outside plates take some getting used to. It’s also heavier than a regular iron. Overall I love it though.
