Once I purchased a PS Vita I felt like the nostalgia of my PSOne gaming had returned. The drawback was it being limited to the screen size. Being inspired to share this with my wife, I pursued PSTV with the hopes of sharing the classic times. She had limited interest, but having a smoother system to play the old games I watched my older siblings play (and longed for) I could finally get it done! Pros: PS Vita integration for games and Vita Memory cards. Access to internet (smart device through Samsung TV) Access to Store to purchase classic games (Like Digital console for Nintendo) and play them on a larger screen. Connectivity to PS3/PS4 Controllers to play the games. Remote play from PS4 if playing on another TV (Be sure the environment is clear.) Super great Support from Playstation to handle issue Price is more competitive for the value you receive from the device. Option to change discs from menu (needed to YouTube this one when it came up) Cons: No remote start from Controller (From my experience anyway) Wi-Fi strength determines lag between input of controller to device. You need to adjust your timing of button pressing to get the exact result. I would NOT recommend FPS or musical games, or games needing very accurate timing of button pressing. (In my opinion this is PSTV's greatest flaw.) Overall, the device was worth my money. It saved me from purchasing another PSOne and retro games, without having all the discs. The remote play through Vita/PS4 lets me game while my wife watches netflix/Hulu. I would not recommend it as a primary device, but as an accessory to PS4/PSVita. PS4 runs the apps and has a better menu. Otherwise, having a wired internet connection through PSTV could fix the device lag, but this has yet to be tried.Read full review

It has a limited number of Vita titles due to functionality concerns, pixelates PSP titles making them feel cheap and unappealing, requires a costly dualshock 4(in an attempt to mock the touch pads of the psVita), requires a PlayStation Network account to use the proprietary memory cards which MUST be activated on the system in order for its data to appear(unless you're satisfied with 1gb onboard memory), and of course it can utilize almost no streaming services including, PlayStation music, Netflix, FXnow, HBOgo, and so many others. It DOES offer PlayStationNow: A healthy library of PS3 games that can be rented at great cost if your broadband internet connection is worthy of Sony's approved bandwidth capabilities. For a seamless integration of games you can't keep longer than a cumbersome $17.99 duration of ninety days. Highly recommended for little ones, Vita fans that want a 720p experience for whatever reason, as a remote access drone for your PS4 in another room on your wi-fi network, and collectors of Sony's folly. I read all of the negative feedback for this little guy, and just had to make the mistake for myself to believe that something so redundant(and unfinished) could be sold. Hopefully this will help you decide to go with a PS4 for a more immersive media console experience.Read full review

I wish I knew of this product a long time ago, it’s a stationary ps vita, which can remote play your ps4 and ps3, from anywhere around the world, but with Ethernet capability as well as WiFi, and you can use ps4 &ps3 controllers, as well as play vita games. It’s 720p so don’t expect anything dramatic but it’s great for house hopping especially if you have mostly digital games.

Too bad I didn’t snatch one of these up when they were under $30 new. Now they’re a bit of a collectors item. At any rate, this is essentially a Vita with an HDMI out. You can use a DS3 or DS4 which is cool. I bought this primarily to stream my PS4 on. A second tv, but both my PS4 and pstv are on WiFi right now, so even though I’m getting great WiFi speeds, the streaming is far too laggy to be playable. I’ve talked to others with wired solutions and they said it works fine so I’m sure that’s my issue. Other than that, you can play vita cartridges (some do not work, there’s lists online) as well as downloading games off the PSN. I’m using to play some psp and vita games I missed out on over the years, and I’ve never been a big handheld guy so playing them on the big screen is quite nice.Read full review

Works with no issues. This allow me to play very fun Vita games on TV!! Not all the Vita games are available to play in this vita TV (due for touch specs in some games); there is a while List solution around there that could allow to play all games with no restrictions! Ahh better use the DS4 specially for games like uncharted; gravity rush and wipeout 2048

I purchased this for my brother who is leaving for college and I am afraid for him to take his PS4 and leave it in a dorm room. With this he can just remote play (hopefully not too much latency) and play his fav games with little issue. Testing on my LAN, the latency is minimal, though noticeable. It mixes PS4 down to 720p but it still looks OK. It is TINY, like the size of a small cell phone, It comes with an 8gb card so you can load your PSN freebes. I tried a few of my PS Vita games on it and it works well enough. My gripe is that many of the free PSN games DONT work with the PSTV, I was disappointed when a few of my favorites wouldn't run and aren't compatible. Anyways for what it can do you can pay $50 have a small game system and remote back into you PS3 and PS4 and have a go of it. I longterm was going to buy one for myself to use upstairs when the Mrs is watching her vampire mysteries or whatever and remote into my PS4 downstairs. If you are reading this and asking what network set up I have, I have an ASUS ac87u, so its a top of the line home router, and my PS4 is wired in at 1gb port with cat 6...heres to hoping.Read full review
I bought this at half price mainly to have a DS3 controller. The PS TV is pretty much a Vita so I can play most Vita games, including the free ones from PSN Plus. I'd recommend this if you can find a good deal on it and have a pile of free Vita games from Plus to play.

The PSTV is for the hardcore only or anyone who likes their ps4 in more than one room. The remote play feature is really the only to get this. Also if uou hack it (firmware 3.60) than if does become sn awesome emulator machine.

I bought it exclusively to play my ps vita games on a bigger screen but the lack of touch-screen functions lacks in quite a few games interaction. The problem will be easily fix with a controller that covers all ps vita functions, thanks!

Sure it can't play ALL PS Vita games but it can play a very large number of them, added with the fact that it has a handy HDMI out, you can essentially stream any Vita compatible game you come across. Most people buying this already have a DualShock3 controller around and this thing is tiny. Almost a no brainer for the prices these things are going for. Sony's proprietary memory card is pretty expensive however.
