Excellent headphone. Attenuate a couple of treble bumps and boost subbass a pinch and it is an HD600 killer and superb monitoring/mixing/mastering headphone. Superb entry-level high-end can for casual listening, too, with that warm, thick, finely nuanced, and organic Sennheiser house sound. If you want more resolution than HD600 but none of HD650's character, this baby should do it for you. Aside from that, comfort is supreme. The build quality doesn't seem up to par with HD650, though, but still better than most cheaper headphones. Placement of sounds is sharper and clearer than HD650 and HD600, though not by much. This is no K702 and HD800 killer, however. It's high impedance demands you have at least a Schiit stack for best results, or you are better off with cheaper, low-impedance headphones like K612 and HD598. If you love the Sennheiser sound but want a brighter tuning, this may be it for you. A potential alternative may be DT1990 if you don't like this headphone. If you found the Beyerdynamic or K701/K702 too bright for you, HD660S is not as bright, so this may be the alternative that will work for you as it is not overly bright. Another reviewer calls this entry-level, I consider HD600 the cut-off point where high-end starts and the "law of diminishing returns" starts kicking you in the leg. It costs more and more money to gain noticeable boosts in overall sound quality and resolution after HD600, for the most part. And then to get your money's worth out of such purchases, you also have to upgrade your playback system more and more, or you are better off with cheaper choices as I mentioned. K612 will kill an underpowered HD660S or HD600 easily, making them seem like wastes of money.Read full review

My setup consists of these HD600s run to a fiio K3 then to my MacBook Pro streaming from tidal. This setup has served me very well, and the clarity achieved by these headphones is incredible. I’m relatively new to audiophile equipment, but I can truly say these are the best I’ve used so far. If you’re looking for entry level equipment at a reasonable price, these are your best bet.

Impressive and impactful natural bass. Excellent clarity and detailed sound. Broad soundstage. Light weight and comfortable for extended use. I use a small battery operated headphone amp to insure adequate power. It seems to work fine with this setup. Very impressed.

it is a great headphone. I have Sennheiser HD 600. But this one exceeds 600 in many aspects. the Quality of the sound, of course, is the first and main. You feel as if you can hear every, even the shortest and slightest, of the sound. Absolute satisfaction. But do not forget to amplify these effects with good sound's application

Amazing headphones, bought a decent dac with it for the mean time and man, I was talking about them for days, and still am they have changed the way I have heard audio in such a long time, also hearing things you never hear is also crazy. Thanks for the amazing headphones.

Amazing sound. Can hear every instrument, and so many details. Nothing is muddied. Feels like I’m hearing a song exactly how it’s intended to be heard for the first time. Love them.

Proper clamp pressure over the ears so these HPhones stay on. Good bass control. Mids are clean and clear but MOST HPhones kinda get that right. The upper frequencies are tight, clean and not piercing or sharp. Good overall balance throughout the frequency range.

Very good sound overall..... These headphones particularly shine with vocals, and midrange detail. Bass is definitely extended but could be a little tighter.

If the music you are listening to is well produced and they are paired with a decent DAC, then these cans sound pretty awesome in my opinion. I am using them with an Audioquest Cobalt portable DAC. I bought a shorter Sennheiser cable with a 3.5mm jack for when out and about. As many reviews will mention, the Soundstage is not super big, the bass is controlled and neutral. Smooth and comfortable sound, which is great for long listening sessions, while working from home.

I am used to a pair of 40+ year old HD424s, so these don't feel light. But, the sound is world's better ... low and high end improved.
