A wonderful sequel to that anthology was released by Jasmine records in 2007 under the heading of Frisco Jazz 1948-1955. For those who are hypersensitive to this kind of music, the prospect of a hitherto little known rendition of the "Wang Wang Blues" could conceivably justify investing in the entire album.

A nostalgic trip back to a long-gone musical era in san francisco
Nicely packaged with a really generous selection of old traditional "moudy fig" San Francisco jazz at its best. A lot of fun to listen to, these old recordings were well recorded for their day, and clearly reproduced here, but a certain sameness does begin to creep in after awhile. Those were the days of remote broadcasts on local radio and lots of humor and enthusiasm, so unlike the moaning, groaning and screaming pop music of today, a depressing sign of the times. Happy music is very welcome right now--- San Francisco has a hard time living up to its past nowadays.
