This is an OEM part made to fit perfectly with easy-to-understand instructions. Converting the ignition modules with this kit instantly fixed the problem of the engine running on one cylinder and loosing power. If you don't have the proper feeler gauge to set the coils from the flywheel, use an aluminum soda can - depending on the can, you may need 2 or 3 layers to reach the proper specification. I used 3 layers from a Modelo can.
Great price, delivered fast and perfect fit!!! My Craftsman 54" mower is BACK and cutting grass again. Its been alone time since its had the power it has
now !!!

Arrived on time instructions were very good
Was installed on 27 hp. Kohler started an runs well seems to have lost a little power but way better than changing Fowled plugs due to the intermediate spark from the old system
I bought it for my Craftsman 26hp kohler twin engine, which originally had a three post wired coil. I didn't understand the directions much, but common sense guided my way. The white wire is the one you hook to the new coil, and so you just need to cut and splice. The black/green is the ground, and the third wire, which I think was red, went to the carb solenoid. Since the new coil has a ground connection at the coil bolt then you don't need this ground any more. Therefore you just need to tie up the two wire harnesses that still has the ground and the solenoid wires and you are good to go. Also, if you haven't watched a video about installing a lawn mower coil then you need to stick a flexible card about the size of a credit card between the coil and the flywheel magnet as you tighten the coil. Also, make sure you secure the new wire extra extra extra good because they will get sucked into the flywheel and pull your wire off the coil.Read full review
My mower had the sdai ignition and one of the modules went bad. Bought this conversion kit to switch it back to old style ignition. Coils fit perfect and simple to install. I used a business card to set the air gap between the coils and flywheel. Mower runs great. Would buy again if I ever need to.
