2002 Explorer Sport Trac
I have a 2002 sport trac I've had for 2 yrs now. I did alot of research on 4 door truck/SUV's and the sport trac gave me the options I looked for, for a lesser price. The bed is not very big if you need to haul large items, but the bed extender comes in handy with the bulkier items. Mine also came with a hinged cover, that was added later, that comes in handy during bad weather. As for the interior, I car pool with 3 other guys and there is plenty of room for 4 passengers. The interior is quiet and the AC works great and cools quickly in a few minutes. The front seats are comfortable. I don't know about the rear seats but I've heard no complaining. They will also lay down giving more hauling room as well. Performance wise, I've had no problems mechanically, it is overall a good vehicle. The fuel mileage is not very good, about 19 mpg, but is comparable to other vehicles its size. Read full review

I like it.
I've owned an 02 Sport Trac for about a month as of June 07 and overall, I like the truck. I would recommend it. Here's what I don't like: Roof rack crossbars are an expensive option. The rack is useless without the crossbars. I guess that's just another way Ford is trying to make a buck. Doesn't have as much power as my 1999 Jeep Cherokee SE. Both are 6 cylider vehicles, but the Jeep has more power. My experience with Ford is that their V6 engines just can't compete with other company's. I previously owned a Ford Ranger with a V6 and it also lacked power. It's very difficult to see when backing up due to the high tail gate. The composite bed is interesting, but putting a dog back there is even more interesting because it's very slippery. The power sliding rear window is very cool. Read full review

2002 Sport Trac Review
Great truck - very comfortable ride. Bought it for my 16 year-old son (new driver) and he loves it for its' look and performance. Only complaint so far is the child locks on the rear doors will not release - both back doors have to be opened from the outside. Have searched the internet and it appears to be a common problem with this vehicle. Appears the only remedy is to replace the inside handles. Other than that, would recommend.

Good Deal, Good people, Great People
The Truck handles great, it does feel slightly top heavy if you take corners too fast. It has plenty of power for a truck this size and it is fun to drive
