A classic euro performance car for a fraction of original cost.
The 2000-2003 M5 is a great car. While it is not inexpensive to maintain, if it is well cared for it will easily do 200,000 miles. It is surprisingly comfortable for such a performance "beast" and you can average 17-20 mpg is you don't drive too agressively. I'm getting about 18.5 mpg in mixd driving. There are also a number of great enthusiast sites with DIY instructions and videos for owners.
I know people don't like ebay cars, but this was a great deal for me and is working out. M5's are hard to come by and some get wrecked, but this was an enjoyable experience from the start except Express Auto Transport didn't schedule a vehicle pick-up soon enough and I had to cancel on them and pick up the car myself.
