I love this Chromebook. It is fast; it starts up in 2 seconds; its battery lasts about 8 hours (not exactly sure because I always charge it at the end of the day, and it still has life). It is just perfect for a fast computer when you really only need internet. Use Google Drive, external hard-drive, Dropbox, or another computer for storage. Totally satisfied with its speed, light weight, and battery life.

I haven't bought my own laptop before, so I did quite a bit of research and with a $200 budget in mind, this laptop does everything I need it to & with a fantastic battery life to boot. It's a bit smaller than I would have liked, but the size isn't bad for a laptop like this one. The screen doesn't have perfect viewing angles, but it does look nice and is fairly bright for inside viewing. I do dislike the fact that the SD card slot is not a full sized slot. I have an adapter coming in for a micro sd card that I'm hoping solves this, but I'm not too sure yet. Windows 10 does indeed work on this model as well, but the current trackpad driver wasn't very good, so I decided to stick with Chrome OS and a Linux dual boot with Gallium OS, and I'm loving this laptop. Steam streaming works fairly well with it, minus some hiccups here and there that I'm not too sure on, but I'm sure I'll figure it out one way or another. I would have liked the addition of a right click button, but the two finger click works just as well. The speakers sound good on a flat surface, but quieter and more gain-y without a flat surface, but that's not a problem for me. WiFi N speeds are reasonable with about 70 mbps, I have yet to test WiFI AC speeds, but I'm sure they're just as good and I can't complain. Overall this laptop is a great value for the price.Read full review

This was a store demo unit from what I was told. It arrived in great condition, and I ended up saving $100 by getting this one instead of buying one new. Totally worthwhile purchase. One of the best 11" chromebooks I've used, the 4 GB makes a different, as well as the 3205U processor. I had used another Acer chromebook with only 2Gb and a N2840 processor, and NetFlix would stutter and not play smoothly all the time. With the C740, never a problem. Good stuff.

I bought this chromebook because I needed something faster and more portable for my college classes. It's fast, easy to use, and the interface isn't cluttered. Apps are easy to install as well. It is a bit heavier than more expensive small laptops, and has more of an "industrial" look to it, but this is easily overlooked if you're not buying for the appearance. Does have some visible wear on the side corners, but no intense damage. Overall, I would buy again and recommend it for any student whose on a budget.

I got this one specifically because of the ability to legacy boot so a different OS could be installed. Runs Ubuntu 14.04 perfectly! The screen can be a little harsh if youre not at the right angle while watching a video on full screen.
