One of the best CPU's I've used and I've tried literally dozens. The two extra cores allow all kinds of opportunities for speed that a typical 4 core processor can't reach. I build high end computers for a living, and this one sits right next to an i7 7700K machine, while 30 feet away in the workshop I run an i7 6850K and i7 5820K... I know of what I speak. This is the best of the bunch overall. Don't get taken in by clock speed...that's single core performance, and I've got this reliably over-clocked at 4.4Ghz on water right now, and had it all the way up to 4.6 before temps started to get uncomfortable for me. I run about 33 C at idle, rise to about 41 C while running intense 4k video processing and still stay under 50 C with the most demanding new games at 4.4 Ghz. It comps higher than the 7800K, and it's Passmark scores were higher than almost anything else that isn't specialized for single purpose applications. For the price I paid I haven't been able to beat it. It even puts my 6930K spec. build to shame!

  • Review of the i7-6800k processor

I bought this processor for a great price online BNIB and it was too good to pass up. It is super easy to install and very fast and responsive. I haven't overclocked my processor and don't see a need to do so. I ran several benchmarks and stress tests and it outperforms many competitors in the ballpark and even some that have higher specs. I couldn't be more grateful for purchasing this CPU and I would definitely recommend it for others. The only caveat I can think of with this processor is that it only has 28 PCI Express Lanes. In motherboards that support the U.2 connector for SSD's, the requirement is a 40 PCIe lane CPU to function. Outside of this, AMAZING processor!!!!

  • Excellent CPU

I've been using Intel CPU's ever since I began building my own pc's going all the way back to 1997. I give a 100% positive rating in performance and any thing else related. You can't go wrong purchasing an Intel CPU. You really might just as well choose Intel for your CPU seeing their products are in every mother board on the market. Software manufacturers, hardware manufacturers all design their products around Intel products. If your looking to minimize or completely eradicate potential compatibility issues within your new build, then my humble advice is to choose INTEL ! ! !

  • Great CPU for this platform.

Doesn't overclock high relative to today's standards but is a great upgrade for anyone using this socket with a Haswell E CPU.

Great processor !! I do not overclock yet, this is my 2nd 6800k !! Very stable and my plan is to install in my 1st liquid cooled setup - which I look forward to !!

  • Excellent for everyday use multitasking!

Lowest of the current high end processors, but don't let that discourage you from buying. This processor is wonderful! I use it for everything; heavy multi-tabbed browsing, video encoding, gaming, office apps, programming, whatever else you do this will handle it.

  • Works perfectly!

I bought this to replace my old i7-5820k that died on me. This new processor works great! I put it through it's paces in CPU benchmarks and I get about the expected result. All 8 cores are functional. Temp is normal. I have not tried any OCing. I am staying away from that as I believe that's how I broke my 5820k. I can't find anything negative about this other than the packaging was a bit dirty.

  • Great for heavy workloads, gaming etc.

Awesome CPU for heavy workloads like Photoshop and or CAD or any other software that require multiple cores.

  • Great upgrade to a Dell

All 6 cores weed great. You can assign different processes to different cores and is extremely fast in a Dell Precision Tower 5810 used for video editing

  • Forget the 6700k, 6800k is superior!

More cores, more cache, just simply faster and more powerful then going with suggested 6700k processors called out by recommended specs for gaming.
