After another terrible experience with a different brand, I bought this clock/radio without much expectation, but it turned out to be great! It has all the features I want: volume control with a dial, rather than push-button setting for more accurate control of volume; similar dial control of tuning, to better tune to the station you want; easy-to-use buttons for setting time and alarm; and a dimmable display. My only beef is that it is already telling me I need to replace the battery, but that will be a minor inconvenience. Also a C- to the designer who decided it should live in an uninspiring cube shape, but hey, it works great, so who am I to complain about its looks?

Tiny alarm reset button not raised so difficult to find especially in the dark. The steps required for DST(day light savings) adjustment are ridiculous. This function should not have been included which would make the whole time setting function easy. I don't care if I have to adjust time twice a year. Size and display good.

Real easy to use. Nice modern look. Alarm could be louder. Radio sounds louder than the alarm. So if you want to wake up quick set alarm to radio instead of buzz. The alarm buzz took me over a minute to wake up. The beeping buzz is to gentle to wake up to.The back up battery was dead but no big deal. Just put a new battery. For the price its a great deal. You could never go wrong with a sony.😸

Display is adjustable and goes from really bright to not so bright. We sleep in total darkness, so even on the lowest setting it is a little brighter than what we would prefer. Takes a minute to figure out how to set the time and alarm. Not a very user friendly design. For example, when I press the radio button it plays the radio. If I press it again it keeps playing the radio. You have to hit Alarm Reset to turn off the radio. Cheap price on a name brand though will probably make it worthwhile in the long run.

This is exactly the kind of device I wanted to replace a very shoddy generic radio that was having all kinds of problems related to very poor QC. It's a tastefully understated electronic device from a respected--if no longer venerated--electronics manufacturer. So how does the Sony stack up? User interface isn't all that bad, display has three luminosity settings (amber color is optimum for minimizing sleep/melatonin disruption, BTW,) audio is "clock-radio quality" aka pretty bad...but it works as advertised. No timekeeping errors noted as yet. Not bad, I just hope it holds up.

Lots Of Bells & Whistles Though this clock model has EVERYTHING that I was looking for...and more, I just couldn't give it 5 stars, as much as I wanted to . it has sounds, it has weekday and weekend settings, it has a radio, you can wake to the radio, sounds or an alarm, the alarm is crescending, you can dim the screen or completely darken the screen, the radio is great for an alarm clock, it has automatic day light savings time...you name it, it probably has it!!! HOWEVER, it is a TOTAL and COMPLETE pain in the butt to change the time and alarm times. Way too much effort is required for something that basic and simple!!!!!!!!!!!
