Excellent Ford Part- Needs longer bolts.
This is a legit Ford motor company manufactured part, with I was surprised by. It is not some cheap knock off aftermarket add on. That being said, it is an exact fit to any year or model Ford truck having the same rear end. Here is what you need to know. The 3/4 in. stock bolts for the 1/8 in. thick OEM cover (at least for my 05 f250) are not long enough to even show thread on this aluminum cover. You need something at least 1-1/4 in. long. I picked some chrome bolts up from the local ACE hardware. They have a huge selection of thread cut, style, and length. The auto parts store had nothing. Other than the bolts, fantastic product! Aluminum Cover
Quality is fair. A lot of sand in the cast which I sanded off. The grain was not as good as expected but it will hold. Because it is smaller than the factory metal cover the rear end only holds a little more than 3 liters of oil instead of the required 4 liters. That is probably why the heat sink is needed. It comes with an O-ring grove in the flange area but O-ring cord is not included. I just put a lot of black silicone on the flange and the seal is fine. You will need longer bolts because the original cover bolts are too short from the thickness of the aluminum flange. Good Luck.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

In an effort to add to longevity of the rear axle, I wanted a better heat dissipating cover than the factory stamped steel provided, aftermarket covers were several hundred dollars and not what I needed right now, this later model factory aluminum cover is a great way to shed heat without shedding to much cash. If I had a complaint that keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating is it doesn't come with fasteners, which you will need since the original steel cover bolts are much to short. I simply used a bead of RTV in the cover groove, and allowed it to "set" till just tacky, and then installed, tighten slowly in a pattern until cover just touches, wait again for 10 to 15 mins and then snug bolts securely, I have had no leakage problems.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Lightweight, good fins for cooling, fit perfectly. I had to replace the bolts with 1 1/4 inch 5/16 bolts to fit properly.

Fords cheap steel!!
Ford's nice aluminum read differential cover is real thick as compared to the cheap steal stamping. It also closely resembles their oil pan of the same year that is so thin a little rust and you have a see through hole!!
