Looking for budget gaming cpu? This is it! Performs on par with the i5 2500k, dual core hyperthreaded 3.5ghz for $60. Its a deal! Great kabylake placeholder chip that can be swapped out later for an i7 7700k. Handles my gtx 1060 6gb great.

Excellent speed for low price, wonderful for someone who wants to build a budget machine now with plenty of room for upgrade later.

AMD might have lost the budget crown with this one, leaving them somewhere in the middle of budget and mid range. Plays all my games @ 60FPS with a RX470. 2 cores with hyperthreading unlike pentiums in the past without HT. System is extremely snappy serving as a file server, gaming machine, minecraft & plex server as well. No issues whatsoever. You might experience some fps dips playing AAA titles but overall most games don't even max out the 4 threads.

This is a good little chip for the money. I'll take it all day over an i3. It performs well and can run fast RAM if your motherboard is capable. I got it as a placeholder until I can afford an i5 or i7. I'm actually glad I got it because as soon as I upgrade to the i5 (or i7), I am going to use this in a miserly HTPC.

2 real cores 4 threads and you're ready to play 90% of the games. I paired it with DDR4 3200 RAM to stream and play at the same time* (mostly LOL or HOTS) and it does it perfectly fine (one little hiccup here and there but while gaming it's awesome.** *Software used: OBS and latest Windows10 Insider preview (fastest branch) **The GPU used was a GTX-1070 & I'm using the iGPU to do the video rendering.
