When I opened up the bag, it smelled like a cross between salted caramel and black licorice. When I tasted it, it did taste a bit like that, though the black licorice flavor is stronger than the saltiness. There's almost a menthol-like quality to it. I can imagine it being good if you have a cold. It's firm, but chewy and the outside was not sticky, it had granules of salt and/or sugar on it. There was this complex salt-like note (probably the salmiak) lingering in the background of the flavor after chewing on a piece. It was interesting and intriguing, not offensive. I found it invigorating, it felt like it opened up my lungs. (Don't eat too much, though, they might give you a headache.) I'd definitely get more in the future. Also, as others have said, this is natural. The brand's website said that this was vegan and gluten-free. I didn't feel that sedated "sugar high" after eating a few pieces, either (which I'm happy about). [Warning: They do contain a bit of an ammonia note to them, due to containing ammonia salt. I originally found these at a U.S gas station by off chance and haven’t been able to eat the American gummies since! I’ve searched high and low for these candies on shelves because they taste delicious. But that’s not even why I keep getting them. The Europeans are far more conscious of what they put in their foods and don’t even use artificial food colorings or flavors. I wish the U.S would switch to this variety but until then, I’ll continue to scout these out, (and pay more than I’d like), on eBay.

I've seen this candy in many ASMR videos called satellite candy or ufo candy and wanted to try it but the versions in the USA all seem to have hard candy beads inside. These have flavored fruit powder kind of like a Pixie stick. The outside is bland, and tastes a little like a communion wafer but the powder is so flavorful that you usually don't taste the wafer.
