If you have any basic PC modding skills, the installation of this drive will be simple. This 1TB 860 Evo is available from multiple retailers as of this writing for $109. The purchase is a no-brainer if you currently have a traditional HDD. Not only will your rig boot in mere seconds, but even things like video editing runs smoother and faster, especially when editing with multiple synced cameras. All around speed increase going from HDD to this SDD is absolutely noticeable in quite literally every aspect of machine operation. It's everything people claim it to be. The free Samsung Data Migration software DOES work like a charm, but you must make sure that you close all apps that are running in your SysTray. I actually had a disk clone failure the first time I tried to clone my HDD with the Samsung software. Turns out that any non-windows apps that are running in the background (in your SysTray) are actively accessing your HDD and MUST be closed in order for the disk to be cloned. No big deal, clone worked perfectly on the second try. It does take roughly 1.5 hrs per 500gb for the cloning process. Don't forget to grab a USB to SATA adapter so that you can clone! These SSD’s are great products however installation with Windows10 can be very frustrating. The current Data Migration software almost always reaches 99% only to fail. After many attempts, research & speaking with Samsung, you can be left with a notion you’ve got a defective drive. So here’s some help if you find yourself in the same situation. Download the older version ( 3.1 ) of the Data Migration as it has so far worked flawlessly. I gave only four stars only because of the poor product support but I do love these SSD’s as they are among the best for quality & pricing.

As far as SATA III SSD's go these are top tier (apart from Samsung's own 860 Pro ones). All around excellent performance and reliability, especially for the price.
