Hard to find Bach mouthpieces with the Letter "B" beside the number. A medium deep cup with a full dark sound. The size depends on the player. The cornet should have a dark sound, more lyrical and deep to blend with the rest of the group. This is what makes the cornet a better instrument than the trumpet, which demands to be heard above the rest of the ensemble. Even better would be a larger throat and backbore to give less resistance to the flow of air and enhances the volume of sound produced by the player. Yes, I agree, the upper register is a little harder to accomplish but worth it for that lyrical sound. I wish they would bring back the "A" cup to all the sizes in the Bach mouthpieces, which allows more of the soloist sound for the cornet.
