I bought this to use on my 3d printer. I got it thinking it would be maybe be something from like gamestop or second hand store. Since they are older cameras. But this camera looks brand new. It works very well. It replaced a web camera that had low resolution. So this actually works better. Also I can 3d print out some brackets to use my quad cameras lenses and use different lenses with this camera. I can change out the style of lenses I want to use in it also. Which makes it even better deal also. For the price this camera is a steal of a deal. You can go wrong for the price. You could spend more for higher resolution camera but for the money its not bad.

I have purchased the item to compliment my PS3 Superslim model and my then newly acquired Playstaton move navigator and controller. It tracks the move controller well enough for most gameplay, though when it comes to calibration, all I can say is that it was fortunate that most games that support it, such as Dead Space Extraction and Killzone 3, have crosshairs on the screen so perfect alignment does not need to occur when emulating light guns of days past. I'm not too sure if it's due to the individual software or that it's just not meant to be perched atop 60+ HD Flatscreen, but it is something to consider before a purchase. Still, it works just as well as expected, though anything else that requires exclusive use of the Playstation Eye will have to be a later judge since I do not have immediate access to them. Still, it is currently the cheaper option when one wishes to have light games and such Playstation Move Games so it's not all bad, just that one gets what they paid for.Read full review

Using these cameras with Octoprint on a Raspberry Pi to monitor my 3D printer. It was 'plug and play' on the Raspberry Pi and Octoprint, and I've used the camera for days with no issues. I wish the lens had a little more adjustment, but the image quality is really good.

If you intend to use this for NON PS3 usage i would stray clear, I bought it for $6 thinking I could use it as a cheap webcam but as of windows 8 (we are at win 10 now) there’s pretty much no support for these cameras, no official drivers were ever released and the 3rd party drivers for win7 don’t work anymore with win 10.
