This is one great pocket knife. Premium S30V steel that holds edge well under hard use, excellent compression lock design for secure lock up, 4 way pocket clip location, milled liners to save weight but still giving it necessary rigidity, excellent build quality, MADE IN USA. Design-wise, it's an acquired taste as it doesn't look like a typical pocket knife and some people are turned off by it but to Spyderco fans, almost everyone has a Paramilitary 2 in their knife collection/EDC rotation. Large hole on the blade that gives it unmistakable Spyderco persona is also very functional in that you can deploy the knife easily even when wearing gloves. Overall design is superb, just the right amount of metal and plastic to do the job, engineered just right, without excess weight, tough built but not necessarily "over-built", which I equate with too much weight. I have carried those overbuilt pocket machetes and most of the time, it's just not necessary for EDC use unless you are a hard-core outdoorsmen. Then, you'd be carrying a fixed blade. Am I right? More and more, I find carrying a heavier folder to be pain in the a$$. I like well-made, light weight, purpose built knife like Paramilitary 2. I have had several Paramilitary 2 in my possession including this one, a camo G-10 with blacked out blade that looked wickedly cool. But, since I am not a hunter or military, I felt like a doofus carrying it around the office since it looked rather menacing. Therefore, I sold that one very quickly on eBay without taking much loss, attesting to the popularity of this knife. Since this knife is so popular, you gotta watch out for fakes!! This knife is just awesome! I have bunch of knives, some costing way more than this one, but this knife is one of my top five, just not camo, with black blade.Read full review

I've always just carried cheap pocket knives, but recently decided I wanted to step up to a high quality EDC knife. After looking at dozens and dozens of knife reviews by "experts" online I decided on the Paramilitary 2. My first impression was its a good quality knife, but a bit on the large size in the pocket and in the hand. Its razor sharp as all knives should be, but with a name like Paramilitary I was expecting something a built a little more heavy duty. The blade stock seems a bit on the thin side for a knife that may see Heavy use. I've seen pictures of other people's para 2 with broken tips and even a couple with blades broken in half. I'm not sure if I will keep this knife. Its a lot of money to spend on something that doesn't feel 100% satisfying in my hand. Perhaps next time I will go to a store and put knife in hand before making a purchase based on "expert" reviews. Read full review

Are you looking for a knife that can do it all? Then look no further. This blade excels at almost anything you throw at it. It's a great slicer, it's lightweight for a larger knife, it's rugged, it's great in a tactical role, and it's a Spyderco made in the USA. What else could you ask for? The S30v steel is amazing, holds its edge forever, is very rust resistant and easy to sharpen. G10 handles lock your hand onto the blade but not overly textured so they won't rip your pants. Jimping on spine of blade is also top notch. 50/50 finger indent is great for finer tasks. Compression lock is strong, fast to deploy, and fun to play with. Large spyder hole helps with this. Good, strong pocket clip. Overall this knife is a tank. Almost 3 1/2 in. Blade with steel liners and G10 but only weighs 3 1/2 oz... Amazing!!! If you can only buy 1 knife for EDC and you need It to be able to perform well in many tasks, this is the one. Read full review

Received as planned, good quality, genuine, the are only couple drawbacks - the scales could be more “camo”, my knife has big one tone areas, and factory sharpening could be better, they made tip of the blade uneven (1 mm thickness of the edge against 2 mm on the other side) , but it is common issue for Spyderco’s less expensive knives. Ok for me, I bought last one and for use not for a shelf, will re-sharp in time.

I love my Para 2! It’s my first Spyderco and I am already trying to decide if I want to order a Shaman or a Manix 2 next. The S30V was razor sharp right out of the box and after a little break in it flicks open smooth and fast.
