I've used electric grills previously so I had a little advantage over a first time user. That being said, it will take a little trial and error to get cooking times and the thermostat control down. Today I cooked a 2" Tenderloin and it came out perfectly: juicy and evenly cooked. I suggest you take notes and adjust as needed: once you get the cooking times down, it will be clockwork: you can set your watch as to grilling time. No more variables as with coal and the heavy duty cast iron grill works much better than the thin grills supplied with gas grills. Very pleased.

After looking at lots of reviews, I do a lot of RVing and have used the Weber 1200, it worked fine but temperature was hard to control, plus propane bottles are expensive. And limited to BBQ only. With the Lumin I can steam veggies, smoke meats and only cooked on it twice so far but I am liking it better than the 1200. I didn’t take any pictures yet.
