This is a set of the Van Halen Roth years '78-'84, the discs are housed in 'mini -lp' replicas of the original vinyl releases. The set as a whole is housed in a nice sturdy clamshell box. Overall, it is a pretty decent package worth having.

Not to mention the reliability and sound quality of cd's. My only small qualm would be there is no booklet to give a historical overview of the albums. For the price, this box set is a terrific bargain. I had the first Van Halen album on CD and Diver Down on cassette, but I never owned the first six albums by the original band members all at one time. Everyone in the group is great and adds their unique qualities to the music. I, like a lot of you, thought I'd get to enjoy the live and in-person talents of the great Edward Van Halen forever, but I guess God needs him now. It is a very economical way to get a great Van Halen collection. If you want plastic jem cases for your CDs you will have to buy them. This set come in a sturdy card board box. Each CD is in it's own card board sleave with album cover on the front and song list on the back. I would definitely buy this again.

This is a great way to get the entire original DLR era on CD! this set cost me only 17 dollars! Do the math, that is just under 3 dollars an album! Now there is no liner notes or the original packaging contents, just a cardboard sleeve for each of the six albums, but all I wanted was the music in disc form, so this was perfect for me! If you don't care about owning the original packaging, and you, like me, didn't have any early Van Halen, consider this, it's a steal for six classic American rock albums!
