I used the original Spyder before buying the Huey Pro. The Spyder served me well although it was fairly slow with the calibration and I always had to wait for full darkness to calibrate. Eventually, it stopped working after my most recent hardware upgrade and I never got an answer from the tech support. Apparently, they put all their tech support efforts into the newer versions of Spyder (Spyder 2, etc.). I have been using the Huey for about a month. It is very simple to set up and the calibration process is very quick (under 3 minutes). You can calibrate it at day-time, no need to wait for the dark. It has a very useful feature: after a predetermint time (you can change it), the sensor readjusts your display for changing light situation, eg. movement of the sun, turning lights off/on, etc. The software is straightforward even for the least experienced. Practically plug and play with Linux, and at $11 it was a good deal. Only complaint is that it sometimes struggles to stick the the screen a little bit due to the older suction cups, but nothing a little moisture cannot fix.

I tried to use it on a linux system using crossover software. The software loaded perfectly and ran. However it did not see the Huey Colorimeter. I installed DisplayCAL software and it did recognize the Huey Colorimeter and I was able to calibrate the display. The package price was worth the Colorimeter. Definitely cheaper than other products on the market.
