C. S. Lewis journaled his feelings after losing his wife. My friend lost his wife after 25 years of marriage. I read the book first then mailed it to my friend. Grief is confusing.....

The book was what I had expected, I have a friend who read it also. It helped me realize that life without your lifetime companion is sometimes taken for granted, until you lose them. The loss of a loved one does make us doubt the existence of GOD. If He loves us, how can He allow so much pain within our hearts, body and soul. The book is easy to read, but may not be easy to understand for some. I would recommend this book to others who are heading towards this situation, since I deal with families who have a loved one who is terminally ill. I bought the book to help me understand a person in this type of pain. I am grateful that I have not had to experience such pain.
This is the best book on grief that I have ever read. I ordered two copies to give to friends
