It looks like my classic M-series Leica at first glance, but that's where the resemblance ends. The X-100 with updated firmware is an amazing piece of equipment. The 16.3 MP sensor is easily capable of capturing a high-resolution image sharp enough for 16x20" prints (that's as big as my printer will go). I've been spoiled using zoom lenses on my other cameras. The X-100's fixed lens forces me to compose shots on a different level. After 50+ years of photography, It's really nice to go out again with a camera bag that weighs less than five pounds. The hybrid digital viewfinder is amazing. I particularly like the extended range of sensitivity (no fixed cut-off filters). If I want to alter the wavelength, I can do it myself! It's a really great compact and lightweight camera. So far, it's as rugged as it looks. Love it!Read full review
Great image quality. Colors are the best! I have zero complaints on the quality of the lens. I used the 23 1.4 fuji for a good while last year and im not complaining about this 23 2.0 attached lens. I recently quit doing weddings and sold my blazing fast Nikon D750 with my 1.4 lenses and bought this old slow fuji x100s. And you know what? I have had no problems except kids photos. Im used to blazing focus speed in all light. Not with this guy. Set the F stop higher for greater depth of field, speed up that shutter speed and crank the ISO (which is good to about 3200 before you can even notice deterioration) and give it hell. I get great shots with this piece.
Going in you need to know its limitations.
It has only moderately quick focus. Its (focus) moderately reliable. and it works in moderately low light. So learn flash, shoot still or slow stuff at wide apertures and crank that iso to get faster shutter speeds. If it wasn't for the great high ISO performance id freakin hate the autofocus speed. Im not shooting events now so I don't care. but you need to know your camera well in this case. Its no point and shoot. You could use it that way but that can be had with an old A10 or something.
this camera is for art and play not work unless you have a very specific pro use for it.
I love it honestly. Its becoming cliche with these old x100's that it forces you to slow down and think and they're right. As a photog at heart I can dig it.

The FujiFilm X100S does everything you pay way too much for in a Leica RF. But hey, whatever. Lush images, a well-thought out menu, and you're up and running. You've got full-auto, aperture and/or exposure manual, panoramic, video capability.
The lens hoods are useless, and you've got to put the 49mm clear-UV filter over the lens. Bung the lens and you're SOL.
Finally—the stock batteries are anemic. Get the Wasabis as backup.
Fuji does a great job with all of it's camera's and this is no exception. The glass is quality stuff. This is the perfect camera for street photography which is what I do. I had the X100 and got rid of it to move to film, but now I'm back. I like it a little better than the X100 because the knobs and buttons feel more substantial. The extra pixels didn't really matter, but I won't give them away either ;-). Trust me. This is a cool camera that you'll love to shoot.
It's a phenomenal camera with fantastic features. Get one.
I bought this camera to take to Jamaica so I didn't have to lug my giant DSLR around the island screaming "take me! take me!" It was very easy to carry and very discreet. Everyone thought I was carrying around an old film camera. It was great. I got it a couple of months before vacation and since I've had it, the DSLR hasn't been out of the bag since. Uh oh. However, the best part? The photos I was able to capture while on vacation.
