If I had to return product why a good rating? Been wanting tablet,thought refurbished would be more bang for buck due to very tight budget. Recieved product promptly, that's where we went off the rails. Followed instructions to charge & turn on. Tried to follow instructions to get to user guide that is not included with refurbs. The icons that appeared at bottom of screen not same as those shown (middle icon missing), no way to access user guide. Called # on sheet provided, not actually a help line. No tech support for this product. Emailed address on sheet, unaware of anything like this with the QC they have in place, no support there either but instructed could either return or take it locally to get fixed, charge would be taken off card, called Best Buy Geek Squad, girl was confused. Me too, geek squad? Oh well. Decided to return. They emailed label. I was unable to access it for some reason, they emailed another. Couldn't get it to print on my printer but got to another & finally got it printed. Ok I'm old & prefer pencil & paper, but I dont believe technology is out to get me nor is it a government conspirecy. So called UPS for pick up, told there would be a pick up charge. Really!! Another email to acer, like # 5 by now. Answer back they have to arrange pick up, where is product? Another email, geez, product is where you mailed it, blah, blah... Finally, they did arrange for UPS to stop out, it did get picked up & hoping refund will be promptly credited. It's only been 2 days. we'll see. So, even tho I returned tablet& choose refund instead of 2nd try; even tho no tech support & a bit of frustration; Acer did do what they could given the restrictions of the refurb product line, even tho this streached out longer than their normal return policy allowed (granted I was in touch with them all during process). This tablet was purchased as a gift for a senior citizen. The size & weight are good for easy handling. It is a good tablet. The only problem is that it comes with a lot of bloatware. These pre-installed apps cannot be uninstalled, so before giving this as a gift, I had to disable many of the apps. I suppose that the reason for so many included apps is to keep the cost of the tablet down. For the price, this tablet is very reasonable and a good value.
EZ to set up and use, if you are new to tablets just play with it and YOU will get the hang of it...in probably one week you will be a pro... A friend has the Acer A200 with the larger 10' screen but we both like this size, EZier to tote around and it's just as fast and has just about all the same features but this one has the added bonus of both front and rear facing cameras the back one being 5MP's! Great photos , just as good as my Kodak Digital camera... a Jolly good one old boy!
This is the perfect size in value for a child who is learning how to be responsible. My son is eight and has homework on the computer that he has to do but doesn't always have access to one. Supports him the opportunity to be able to complete his homework without having a computer right in front of them. The screen size and quality is good.
