Outers makes quality products. The wooden box is not only solid but also great looking. Plenty of room inside for all your cleaning supplies, oils, solvents, patches etc. Solid platform for rifle or shotgun. All the accessories most folks need. You can't go wrong with this kit.

Outers wooden chest gun cleaning kit is built using child labor, I'd bet my bottom dollar on that.
I ordered 2 of the Outers wooden chest gun cleaning kits. The ad said," Outers wooden chest gun cleaning box oak finished wood. I took that to mean that the box was made of oak and finished with a clear coat. One box cost $60. When they arrived, I opened one and was immediately unimpressed by the build quality as well as the finish. The box is made of soft wood that smells similar to cedar, but with a funk to it. It looked like something that was built by a child and the ugly lacquer finish was uneven and didn't completely cover the entire box. The second example that I opened was the same. They look nothing like the pictures. The droors are not easy to open because the entire thing has been sanded just enough that it's not exactly rough cut lumber, and there's no rollers. And they're covered in splinters. They open and close with a lot of friction. I kept them, because I can refinish them myself. Plus, I honestly worry that these things are built using child labor. I don't want anyone getting caned on account of me wanting a refund. And I promise that I'm not being sarcastic or making a bad joke. They're built in Nigeria. I had to dig to find that out. Do the math. If you buy one, you'll know exactly what I mean as soon as you see it with your own eyes. Read full review

Not bad
This kit does the trick. For the money it's not bad. You still need to buy cleaning solvent and gun oil. Most kits I've purchased in the past came with these things but otherwise the kit is good to go. It has all the barrel brushes you will need. I have my own nylon and brass detail brushes so that wasn't an issue. I kind of wish the price was a little lower for what you get.

Poor quality
I guess I was expecting to get something made of oak to be a bit more solid but I did get that oak. It is poor quality, the drawer looks like it has been used. Both sides the wood is more than scuffed off. It does not hold my marlin 243 very well (too short). the box is warped, every time I touch the gun it moves. the gun rests fit too loosely. It is a very good design never the less. The tools do the job. That's why I gave it a three star rating.
