I'm useing the al-ea4 obviously to the a7r2. Auto focus is good in good light. Manual is needed for anything dim. The 1/1 is good but if you @42mp you can crop for a lot closer. The build is good and could even be used as a portrait lens wide open it is pretty sharp at f4 or smaller it's really sharp. For the cost if you already have the ea-la4. I'd say buy it, I really do like this lens. It also make some good art photos when shooting into the sun through other foliage. Looks rad!😍👽

I wanted a copy of this lens for a while and all I can say is it was definitely worth the wait! This is one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used! This lens has become one of my favorites. You can focus extremely close giving a 1:1 ratio. With f/2.8, you can focus on a bug's eye if you want and throw the background out of focus. It's awesome! It focuses very quiet and fast. It has a limiter so the lens doesn't go through the entire range of focus which makes it faster when photographing close subjects. The lens also is great for portraits! The color that comes out of this beast is beautiful and that's one of the things I like best. You can't go wrong with buying one. I can't compare it to a Sigma or Tokina because I haven't owned one but I can honestly say I don't think they could beat this guy! Love this lens for Macro work! Use it on the Sony A6500 with the LEA-3 or LEA-4 adapter. Generally use the LEA-3 for Macro work since that is manual focus generally. Auto focus is good with the LEA-4 as well1
