I love the Roomba & so does my cat. The cat likes it a little too much because he will play on it & then it turns on & I have to redock it. Sometimes the cat just won't leave it be so I have to put it up on a chair to keep him from turning it on. I don't know if anyone knows how to make it stay put so the cat doesn't continually trigger it to start again. If it were up to my cat, the Roomba would never dock! It does do a really good job of cleaning. I have all hardwood floor & it works really well. It even goes under my bed! I still have more to learn but I'm loving it!

It's fairly impressive in small spaces, but returning to it's charging station is roughly a 40% change in my experience if it cleans more than one room. The virtual walls work well, the lighthouses are a hit or miss it seems. It does get pet hair and dirt effectively on our carpet and hard wood floors. It has never fallen down the stairs. But it's rather humorous to watch going around chairs. Beware or leaving cords on the ground, it'll grab those and drag whatever around. It's got stuck under tables, hit something and had whatever fall on it and trap it. It's got stuck in a closet bumping the door enough to close itself in LOL... The key for using this seems to be to remove as many obstacles from the room as possible. Stuff your kids might drop, pipe cleaners a cat may leave somewhere(had this happen twice! jammed it good), string, your laptop cable, rolling chairs. If you take time to remove things like this it performs great. Else it will jam up or at best run out of battery before returning to the charging station. I still like the product, but this version will never be 1/4 as fast as say a drunken maid with a vacuum cleaner. Hoping for the 980 or whatever the next is to drop to reasonable prices.Read full review

The remote doesn't work at all. It turns it off no matter which button you push. Goes in a random pattern and takes quite a while to get over the whole floor since it covers the same place several times. However, that seems to be the way it is supposed to work. I like it since it keeps me from getting the vacuum out quite as often. It is not a heavy duty vacuum. I use it to clean the floor after having company with children to get the crumbs, etc and just to run over the kitchen floor every few days.

A great vacuum! I am on one floor with multiple rooms that have both linoleum and carpet. It handles both no problem. It's not whisper quiet but is fairly quiet for a vacuum. About the same as a hand vacuum. Works really well on both types of flooring. You'll want to tidy up as much as possible as it will get stuck on thick cords (power strip). The lighthouses work really well and it has found its way back to the dock every time. It did have issues with thick rugs (1.5 - 2 inches). Very easy to clean bin. Just push a button and it pops out. Then open the lid and dump into trash. Battery lasts the three rooms (about 700sqft) no problem. Would definitely recommend. A bit pricy.

Wife wanted this, I wasn't so sold on the product. So, as a test, I vacuumed our bedroom (carpeted) with the Dyson vacuum we have. I was confident that there was little if anything left to be picked up. I did not vacuum the master bath or walk in closet (both tiled), just to see what it would pick up. Well after setting the thing loose I checked on it in a little while and discovered it had stopped due to a full bin signal. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and it was packed full! I emptied it and let it run again, only to once more find it full. I'm sure a lot came from under the bed where I could not get the Dyson, but there certainly wasn't that amount. Letting it go for a third time resulted in the bin being half full. It had picked up everything in the bath and walk in closet too! So, yeah, it worksRead full review

I bought this as a present for the family for Christmas. I was tired of vacuuming or begging and/or arguing with our children to get some help around the house. When the Roomba first ran, I was not sure how good of a job it would do. I saw it go over some items and not pick them up but decided to give it a chance. 2 hours later I emptied the bin and it was completely full. By the way, in further swipes of the floor it did end up picking up the items missed previously. We currently have the Roomba set up to clean every day at 10am (the ability to schedule is a fabulous feature) and it rarely disappoints. The bin is always full. With a dog and a cat, two kids that track in dirt and mud this machine is a game changer. Hopefully, it will last. We have since named our Roomba 880 "Whizzy Crush Jr." and consider it an important member of our household.Read full review

Quality and design are really good. The 880 gets huge amounts of our dog's fur that seems ro be everywhere. Easy to clean and fairly simple to operate. After programming just let it go. It reaches places that aren't usually reached by regular vacuuming like under beds. But will miss things from time to time. A minor quibble, and our house is strangely laid out. We are both very happy with the Roomba, and would highly recommend to anyone.

880 is a fantastic machine! Easy to use and works as promised. Still going to do a little light vacuuming here and there, but Roomba does the lion's share. This little guy is especially good at cleaning hard floors. As for area rugs, furniture, loose cords, odd sneakers... Roomba's not afraid. Do yourself a favor and clear as much stuff from the floor as you can and this machine will do right by you. Love it, love it, love it! -Robert M

We have a messy parrot and had to sweep around his cage every morning not any more. It also cleans the rest of our house every night it even gets the dog hair. been using for about 2 months now and has gotten stuck under a desk and between two chairs 3 times now we reaarange the furniture before going to bed. It works great most of the time but before it crashes into a wall it slows down and gets ready to turn but we have wood furniture that onlhas short legs and the rest is about 2 inches high so it doesn't sense those and kind of crashes into the woood before making it's way back around. Would buy again.

I have owned various robot vacs, I was excited to try this one as I loved the rollers. I have a 3000 sq ft rambler all other brands have cleaned every room no problem. I gave this one a couple weeks and it seemed to favor 2 rooms and would not go anywhere else, even when i put up the electronic wall, in which I love, it would just keep moving around it waiting for entry into the room. I also have wood floors with a rug in my living room, other vacs go onto the rug no problem, this one would not and when i put it on there really struggled. It was also really loud compared to others I have owned
